Netflix is seeking a Director, Partner Marketing - APAC to drive better outcomes for partnerships across mobile, broadband, PayTV, and Consumer Electronics players. This role involves building and owning a holistic functional strategy, identifying strategic levers, and collaborating with Country Partner Marketing leads to maximize impact. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in tech and entertainment, possessing strong leadership and strategic marketing skills to achieve business goals in the APAC region.

  • Strong communication and influence skills.
  • Fluency in English.

Our priority partners in the region will span across mobile, broadband & PayTV operators, Consumer Electronics players and other leading consumer brands.

When we partner with these brands, we approach business and marketing opportunities together to attract new audiences and drive business impact. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing Partnerships APAC, this role will be responsible for connecting the dots across the region, building and owning a holistic functional strategy, identifying key strategic levers and working closely with the Country Partner Marketing leads to maximise impact via Partnerships.

This role can be based in Singapore, Seoul or Tokyo. We are looking for an experienced Partner Marketing leader with a deep understanding of APAC markets and partners. The right candidate is a strategic marketing professional who enjoys commercial management, understands entertainment and has successfully delivered on a regional scope.

The Role

The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with demonstrated experience in building strong Partner Marketing strategy & delivering tangible business outcomes.

A passion for technology and entertainment is a must, in addition to a keen understanding of how access to entertainment fits into consumer’s lives and how it is likely to evolve over time. As Director, Partner Marketing APAC, the successful candidate will be the functional expert and a critical link between key cross-functional teams like Business Development, Partner Solutions, Partnership Strategy & Analysis and Country Marketing to achieve business goals in the region. This role will require frequent travel in the region (IN, JP, KR, TH, ID, AU) and will work closely with several stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a high performing, talented team of seasoned Partner Marketing country experts.
  • Build and own the Partner Marketing strategy for APAC with a clear lens of how it will help deliver on our broader business strategy.
  • Partner with the country teams to develop, refine and execute functional strategies, including defining clear goals and short, mid & long term roadmaps.
  • Provide thought partnership and guidance around opportunity sizing, identifying consumer & partner motivations, key GTM levers and clear success metrics for initiatives across existing & new partnerships in the region.
  • Partner with key cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Business Development, Partner Solutions, Partnership Strategy & Analysis and Country Marketing to maximise Partnership impact in the region.
  • Identify strategic functional priorities that can scale across the region, and eventually, globally.
  • Own a learning agenda. Define corrective actions to improve effectiveness by tracking performance with our analytical teams. Translate learnings into clear, prioritized actions that maximise future impact.

Qualifications:

  • More than 15 years’ experience across Tech & Entertainment is essential. Experience across PayTV/Telecommunication/CE is a plus.
  • Excellent regional knowledge and expertise, esp around IN, KR, JP & SEA.
  • An expert in Full Funnel Marketing, including Retail / Sales, who is also experienced in budget ownership.
  • Leadership skills: A leader with extensive regional experience managing diverse teams with a track record of building inclusive and high performing teams. This inspiring leader will lead by example in alignment with our principles of Context, not Control, giving individual collaborators the space and support to thrive at Netflix.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: consumer-oriented, outspoken and impact oriented.
  • Possess the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously without the support of a large team, working both independently and in close collaboration with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge and interest in both business and marketing challenges with a keen lens on driving impact.
  • Strong communication and influence skills with a track record of collaborating effectively and driving initiatives with cross-functional partners.
  • Willingness to ‘roll up their sleeves’ and be motivated, proactive, disciplined, flexible and able to work with effective autonomy.
  • Fluency in English is a must. Knowledge of a second Asian language is a huge plus.
