Job Description

The Hoxton is opening its first hotel in Dublin, Ireland, and is seeking a Cost Controller. The role involves managing and recording goods deliveries, entering R&B costs into the General Ledger System, adhering to and potentially creating cost control procedures, updating costings, conducting R&B revenue and cost audits, and reviewing purchasing procedures for R&B items. You will also ensure compliance with documentation and authorization processes, process R&B accruals, monitor R&B inventories to increase turnover, and participate in month-end reporting for R&B stock. The position requires carrying out weekly stock takes and evaluating potentials. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in income audit or accounts payable, a strong understanding of basic accounting functions, and excellent analytical and numerical skills. Ability to analyze P&L statements, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and possess a hands-on, outgoing, and pro-active approach are crucial. A methodical, process-driven approach combined with flexibility and creativity is also desired.

Company Description

The Hoxton is gearing up to open its very first hotel in Ireland in the beautiful capital city of Dublin. This coastal city is steeped in history, packed with green parks and brought to life through music, art and the best social eating and drinking. We’ll be calling central Dublin home but first we need to pull together a team to help us bring the Hox to this new market. The Hoxton, Dublin will be home to 129 bedrooms of varying sizes, a lobby bar, historic bar, large ground floor restaurant and lobby restaurant, in addition to another first for us - a nightclub.

Job Description

What you’ll do…

  • Manage and record goods deliveries
  • Recording of R&B costs into the General Ledger System
  • Adhering to all cost control procedures (where applicable create new procedures)
  • Updating costings
  • R&B revenue and cost audits
  • Reviewing purchasing procedures for all R&B items
  • Ensuring compliance with documentation/authorisation processes
  • Processing R&B accruals
  • Monitoring inventories of R&B to increase inventory turnover
  • Participating in month end reporting procedures in relation to R&B stock and other tasks
  • Carrying out weekly stock takes and evaluating potentials

  • A balance between a methodical and process-driven approach and flexibility and creativity when it comes to meeting deadlines and finding solutions.
  • You like detail, a lot of detail!
