We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst with specialized experience in the athenahealth Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The successful candidate will be an expert in data analysis and SQL, with a strong background in navigating and extracting data from athenahealth's database and backend systems.

This role requires a deep understanding of athenahealth's data structures, coupled with hands-on experience using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery. The analyst will be responsible for turning raw healthcare data into actionable insights that support business, clinical, and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

athenahealth EHR Expertise:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on athenahealth's EHR database structure and backend tooling/configuration.
  • Develop and implement data extraction strategies, including creating reports and utilizing athenahealth's native tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand data requirements and deliver meaningful data solutions.

Data Analysis & SQL:

  • Apply expert-level data analysis techniques to complex healthcare datasets, identifying key trends and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in writing complex, optimized SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data.

Cloud Data Platform (GCP):

  • Utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, particularly BigQuery (BQ), for large-scale data storage, processing, and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Proven, hands-on experience with the athenahealth EHR system, including its database structure and backend tools.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in a healthcare or health technology setting.
  • Expert-level SQL proficiency and deep knowledge of data analysis methodologies.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically BigQuery (BQ).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or healthcare-related field

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including but not limited to, computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Physical Demands

This position requires the frequent and repetitive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Hand and finger dexterity is required.
