Job Description

As a Data & Insights Analyst - Senior Associate on the Merchant Growth team, you will transform merchant data into actionable insights to drive business growth. This role involves analyzing trends, merchant spending behavior, identifying opportunities and risks, and forecasting future outcomes. You will collaborate with strategy, product, and sales teams to guide critical decisions, accelerate revenue impact, and scale the merchant business.
Must Have:

  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with cross-functional teams.
  • Curiosity and bias for action in data-driven influence.

About the Role

As a Data & Insights Analyst - Senior Associate on the Merchant Growth team, you’ll turn merchant data into clear insights that drive business growth. You’ll dig into trends and merchant spending behavior to uncover opportunities, spot risks, and forecast what’s ahead. Partnering closely with strategy, product, and sales your work will guide critical decisions, accelerate revenue impact, and shape how our merchant business scales.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze merchant data and trends to uncover untapped growth opportunities and flag risks early, driving smarter business decisions.
  • Build dashboards, reports, and forecasting models that give leaders a clear view of demand performance and future outlook.
  • Partner with sales, product, and strategy teams to design metrics, evaluate experiments, and measure strategy effectiveness.
  • Translate datasets into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Identify demand drivers and levers that improve merchant participation and overall revenue.
  • Own end-to-end data narratives for key business reviews, strategy discussions, and performance deep-dives.
  • Drive a data-first culture by proactively spotting problems, framing hypotheses, and influencing decisions with evidence.

What You Will Need

  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics, business analytics, or product analytics, ideally in on-demand services, e-commerce, or marketplace environments.
  • Proficiency in SQL and comfort working with large datasets to extract insights quickly and accurately.
  • Strong analytical toolkit, including experience with Excel/Google Sheets, BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker), and basic forecasting methods.
  • Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems, frame hypotheses, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting insights to senior stakeholders or cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with product managers, sales, and business leaders to drive outcomes.
  • Curiosity and bias for action, with a track record of spotting growth opportunities and influencing decisions through data.

You’ll join Gojek’s Merchant Growth team, a group of problem solvers dedicated to helping merchants succeed and grow on our platform. We work closely with sales, product, data, and marketing to design and scale solutions that improve merchant acquisition, engagement, and long-term retention. We rely on a test-and-learn mindset and deep analytics to identify and scale growth opportunities, from driving adoption of new products to optimizing merchant performance and revenue. Our work has a direct impact on the success of our merchants, the satisfaction of our users, and the overall growth of Gojek’s ecosystem.
