In this position you have the opportunity to shape how Marketing at Philips uses data for decision-making. As a Data Engineer, you will build and maintain data products, partnering with analysts and insights teams. You will own the data product lifecycle, from design to deployment, ensuring data quality and leveraging technologies like MS Azure, Databricks, APIs, and AI models. The role involves implementing CI/CD workflows and supporting frontend data consumption, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Must have:
  • Design, build, and maintain robust data products using MS Azure and Databricks.
  • Collaborate with analysts, product owners, and insights teams to gather requirements.
  • Take ownership of data quality, implementing and maintaining validation rules.
  • Leverage APIs to connect data platforms, use AI models where applicable.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD workflows using GitHub tools.
  • Actively participate in Scrum/agile ceremonies.
  • Document data flows, processes, and solutions to ensure transparency.
  • Support frontend data consumption, with knowledge of QlikSense or PowerBI.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer with hands-on expertise in MS Azure and Databricks.
  • Experience working with Marketing-related datasets.
  • Highly skilled in Python and SQL.
  • Solid experience with CI/CD processes, GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Scrum/agile ways of working.
Good to have:
  • Experience with QlikSense or PowerBI for data visualization and dashboarding.
  • Understanding of frontend data consumption and analytics user needs.
  • Experience in owning and maintaining data products end-to-end.
  • Previous exposure to working in global, hybrid teams.

In this position you have the opportunity to...

Shape the way Marketing at Philips leverages data for decision-making. As a (Analytics-) Data Engineer, you will work at the intersection of data engineering and analytics, building and maintaining data products that enable insights-driven actions. You’ll partner closely with analysts, product owners, and insights teams, taking full ownership of data products throughout their lifecycle – from design and development to deployment and user enablement.

Your role:

  • Design, build, and maintain robust data products using MS Azure and Databricks (including Unity Catalog setup).
  • Collaborate with analysts, product owners, and insights teams to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Take ownership of data quality, implementing and maintaining validation rules in collaboration with domain data experts.
  • Leverage APIs to connect data platforms, use AI models where applicable, and prototype emerging technology solutions to meet evolving business needs.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD workflows using GitHub tools to ensure reliable, scalable, and maintainable data pipelines and products.
  • Actively participate in Scrum/agile ceremonies and contribute to a supportive, collaborative team environment.
  • Document data flows, processes, and solutions to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Support frontend data consumption, with knowledge of QlikSense or PowerBI being a plus, enabling analytics teams to easily access and visualize data.
  • Act as a core member of the team, engaging proactively with colleagues and fostering a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture.

You’re the right fit if:

  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • You bring proven experience as a Data Engineer with hands-on expertise in MS Azure and Databricks, including Unity Catalog setup.
  • You have experience working with Marketing-related datasets and understand the data needs of marketing and insights teams.
  • You’re highly skilled in Python and SQL (or comparable programming languages).
  • You have solid experience with CI/CD processes, GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Scrum/agile ways of working.
  • You possess a strong analytical mindset and a genuine interest in data analysis.
  • You have excellent communication skills and thrive in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
  • You’re comfortable gathering requirements and engaging frequently with business stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with QlikSense or PowerBI for data visualization and dashboarding.
  • Understanding of frontend data consumption and analytics user needs.
  • Experience in owning and maintaining data products end-to-end.
  • Previous exposure to working in global, hybrid teams.
