Job Description

Primarily responsible for taking the defined business requirements and providing analytical, modeling, dimensional modeling, and testing to provide the best outcomes for design against the stakeholder requirements. The analysis concentrates on understanding the business needs for data and information. The data engineer translates business information needs into data structures that are adaptable, extensible, and sustainable. Responsibilities involve creating strategies for data collection, storage, and analysis, ensuring data quality, and developing tools and frameworks for data processing and visualization.
Must have:
  • Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving technical problems for the North American Markets Systems (NAMS) Data platform and related ecosystems.
  • Require designing and developing data models to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
  • The engineer will design and implement ETL processes to integrate data from various sources and maintain documentation for the data models and ETL processes.
  • Manages the overall process and dependencies of all jobs and monitors the corrective actions taken.
  • Develops technical and operational standards, procedures, and technical documents.
  • Proactively keeps knowledge and skills up-to-date and contributes to the Data Engineering knowledge base.
  • Actively works towards ensuring the project is being delivered within the assigned timeline.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data warehouse architectures.
  • Proficiency in working with Data Build Tool.
  • Hands-on data analytics and data validation experience.
  • Working knowledge of at least one or more programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, etc.
  • Working knowledge of at least one or more operation system such as Linux/Unix, etc.
  • Cloud platforms including AWS - RDS, S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, QuickSight.
  • Demonstrate ability to write, optimize and troubleshoot complex SQL queries to retrieve, analyze and transform large volumes of data and analyzing the data to ensure high quality.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment or work independently.
  • Experience working with business analysts, database administrators, project managers and technical architects in multiple geographical areas.
  • Comfortable working within agile development framework.
Good to have:
  • Experience using next-gen tools and technologies such as Databricks, R, Spark, Tableau, Pentaho.
  • Familiarity with data governance tooling such as Monte Carlo, Atlan.
  • Financial market development background is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Education Required: Degree qualified in a discipline related to Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience Required: 2+ years of professional experience in analyzing and developing ETL applications.
