Rolls-Royce Deutschland is seeking Design Engineers in Dahlewitz near Berlin to join the Nacelle Engineering Team. This role involves integrating engine nacelles and thrust reversers into engines and aircraft, working closely with aircraft manufacturers and system suppliers. Responsibilities include defining functional and physical architecture, managing requirements, reviewing documentation, and contributing to change management within an interdisciplinary team. Must have:
  • Work in an interdisciplinary team (Integrated Project Team, IPT) within the Product Lifecycle System (PLS)
  • Work in accordance with Rolls-Royce Management System (RRMS) guidelines and processes
  • Responsible for the FUNCTIONAL and PHYSICAL architecture definition of a nacelle module/subassembly, its justification and conformity strategy/demonstration
  • Create and communicate requirements to the D&M supplier, validate and review requirements, ARP4754A conformity
  • Review and accept support documentation for design, qualification and Part-25 certification from the D&M supplier
  • Contribute to change management for Nacelle Design
  • Integrate design and configuration data from D&M suppliers into the RR PLM management system and the customer's PLM system
  • Create interface control documentation (functional/physical)
  • Completed studies in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, automotive engineering or comparable qualifications
  • Sound knowledge in mechanical design and development, ideally in aviation or automotive
  • Familiar with technical integration topics and teamwork in a 3- to 4-party environment
  • Experience in using CAD and CAE tools
  • Good communication and presentation skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Fluent business English in spoken and written form
Good to have:
  • Experience in requirements management in DOORs
  • Knowledge of CS-E and/or CS-25 certification regulations or equivalent FAA/FAR regulations

Your tasks:

You will work in the Nacelle Engineering Team, which is responsible for the integration of the engine nacelle and thrust reverser into the engine and the aircraft. This highly interesting and technically far-reaching role allows you to work closely with the aircraft manufacturer, the system supplier for engine nacelles and the functional teams for engine integration at Rolls-Royce.

  • Experience in using CAD and CAE tools
  • Good communication and presentation skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Experience in requirements management in DOORs is desired
  • Knowledge of CS-E and/or CS-25 certification regulations or equivalent FAA/FAR regulations would be an advantage
  • Fluent business English in spoken and written form
