Job Summary
Submarine Animation is an independent studio producing international animated films and series for partners like KRO-NCRV, ARTE, Channel 4, Amazon Prime, and Netflix. This internship offers insight into the full production process of an animation project, providing experience in development, pre-production, production, or post-production, depending on the project phase. The intern will support Producers and the production team with various tasks, from script breakdowns to pitch material and preparing funding applications.
Must Have
- Support development and production by gathering documents for funding applications and researching funding opportunities.
- Provide administrative support: taking minutes, preparing meetings, and maintaining inventories.
- Assist in organizing industry events, such as premieres, international market visits, forums, and business trips.
- Research animation talent for potential collaborations.
- Support post-production and distribution tasks, such as organizing deliverables and collecting material for press kits and press releases.
- Create visual and written material, including pitch bibles, mood boards, and creative dossiers for markets and funding applications.
- Assist Producers with script breakdowns.
- Enrolled in a higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) program (preferably media, film, communication, art, or a related field).
- Strong interest in animation and/or film production.
- Good command of Dutch.
- Fluent in English, oral and written.
- Experience with Photoshop.

Period: February – June 2026 | 32–40 hours per week
Description:
Submarine Animation is an independent studio that produces international animated films and series for partners such as KRO-NCRV, ARTE, Channel 4, Amazon Prime, and Netflix. Their portfolio includes award-winning films and series in a wide range of styles and for diverse target groups. The studio is known for its versatility and works with 2D and 3D animation, traditional craft techniques, and hybrid forms of live-action and animation, always choosing the style that best serves the project.
Role:
This internship offers insight into the complete production process of an animation project. Depending on the phase a project is in, you will gain experience in development, pre-production, production, or post-production. You will support the Producers and the production team with tasks ranging from script breakdowns to pitch material and preparing funding applications.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting development and production by collecting documents for funding applications and researching funding opportunities.
- Providing administrative support: taking minutes, preparing meetings, and maintaining inventories.
- Helping with the organization of industry events, such as premieres, international market visits, forums, and business trips (including arranging transport and accommodation).
- Researching animation talent for potential collaborations.
- Supporting post-production and distribution tasks, such as organizing deliverables and collecting material for press kits and press releases.
- Creating visual and written material, including pitch bibles, mood boards, and creative dossiers for markets and funding applications.
- Assisting Producers with script breakdowns.

Skills & Requirements:
- Enrolled in a higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) program (preferably media, film, communication, art, or a related field).
- Great interest in animation and/or film production.
- Good command of Dutch.
- Fluent in English, oral and written.
- Independent, flexible, and proactive.
- Experience with Photoshop.
Practical Info

- Compensation: €300 per month
