Who will you be working with?
Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company, has an exciting opportunity for a Development Engineer to join a well-established business designing, manufacturing, and testing industrial turbochargers supplied into the Power Generation, Marine, and Rail Traction industries.
Role: Development Engineer
Salary: £Competitive
Location: LN5 7FD, Lincoln
Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30am to 15:45pm and Friday 07:30am to 15:15pm
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
How will you make a difference?
As a Development Engineer the role will involve the design, installation, and commissioning of test rigs. You will work in close liaison with colleagues responsible for design, analysis, and applications. There will be opportunities to lead engineering projects and interact with customers to meet strict deadlines for the introduction of new turbocharger products or upgrades.
What will your typical day look like?
- Create bespoke turbomachinery testing rigs
- Perform hands on testing and experimental work
- High Speed rotating machinery assembly and testing
- Lead design validation and reliability testing
- Facilitate improvements and transfer to production/customer
What do we want to know about you?
- HNC/HND or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field.
- Design and build bespoke test rigs
- Previous experience in testing rotating machinery products
- Robust technical analysis and documentation skills
- Experience in rotating machinery assembly
- Proven experience in experimental testing methodologies
