Job Summary
Varonis is seeking a DevOps Architect / Staff Engineer to join their DevOps department. This role involves designing, enhancing, and securing AWS-based environments for multi-region SaaS platforms, improving automation and delivery processes, and introducing new technologies. The architect will lead strategic platform decisions, define roadmaps for cloud and delivery, and set best practices. Responsibilities include building and improving automation with tools like Terraform and Ansible, leading CI/CD with Jenkins DevOps, ArgoCD, and GitHub Actions, and creating internal developer experiences. The position requires deep knowledge of cloud platform architectures and strong collaboration skills.
Must Have
- Design and operate scalable AWS environments for multi-region SaaS platforms.
- Build and improve automation for infrastructure and delivery using Terraform and Ansible.
- Lead continuous integration and delivery and introduce GitOps practices with Jenkins DevOps, ArgoCD, and GitHub Actions.
- Build internal developer experience: create self-service paths, golden templates, and fast environments.
- Run proofs of concept and bring new technologies into the company stack.
- Create clear documentation, design guides, and runbooks.
- Enhance delivery speed and minimize feature release delays.
- Participate in on-call rotations and lead critical incidents.
- Track and improve cloud cost and efficiency, plan capacity.
- Mentor engineers.
- Strong experience with AWS and building large-scale and multi-geo SaaS platforms.
- Deep knowledge of infrastructure as code with Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, and Packer.
- Experience leading cross-company technical projects.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and Prometheus.
- Proficiency in Python and Go.
- Solid understanding of Linux, networking, and security.
- Knowledge of security practices and compliance in cloud environments.
- Experience with observability, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ability to design complex topologies in AWS and other public clouds.
- Very strong collaboration skills.
- Passion to stay hands-on.

We’re seeking a DevOps Architect / Staff Engineer to join our DevOps department and help us continue to build our cutting-edge security platform, serving thousands of tenants worldwide.
In this role, you will design, enhance, and secure our AWS-based environments, improve automation and delivery processes, and introduce new technologies into our stack. This is a senior-level position for an outstanding DevOps engineer with deep knowledge and experience of cloud platform architectures who reports directly to a group lead.
Responsibilities
Main Focus Areas
- Strategic Impact: Ensure platform decisions support business needs and deliver secure, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.
- Technical Leadership: Define the roadmap for cloud and delivery, set standards and best practices for all teams.
- Innovation and Hands-On Work: Lead proofs of concept, test and adopt new technologies, and deliver complex features when needed.
- Enablement: Share knowledge, guide design choices, run reviews and workshops, and help teams enhance speed and quality of their delivery.
What You Will Do?

- Create clear documentation, design guides, and runbooks for teams to follow.
- Enhance. Collaborate with team leaders to improve delivery speed and minimize feature release delays.
- Participate in on-call rotations and lead critical incidents with clear communication and follow-up improvements.
- Track and improve cloud cost and efficiency, plan capacity to meet demand without waste.
- Mentor engineers and help them learn best practices in cloud, security, and automation.
Requirements
- Strong experience with AWS and building large-scale and multi-geo SaaS platforms.
- Deep knowledge of infrastructure as code with tools like Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, and Packer.
- Experience to lead cross-company technical projects; design collaboration, execution
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and observability tools like Prometheus.
- Proficiency in modern programming and scripting languages such as Python and Go.
- Solid understanding of Linux, networking, and security (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, certificates, firewalls).
- Knowledge of security practices and compliance in cloud environments.
- Experience with observability, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ability to design complex topologies, mainly in AWS but also in additional public clouds when needed.
- Very strong collaboration skills, for ongoing cooperation with various business units - product, engineering, and security teams
- Passion to stay hands-on, run refactors, and deliver features when needed.
