Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a highly experienced DevOps Engineer to lead and support the deployment, automation, and management of scalable software solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline development pipelines, enhance system reliability, and facilitate continuous integration and delivery in a cloud and open-source environment. The engineer’s efforts directly contribute to the firm's ability to deliver innovative and reliable technology solutions efficiently and securely.
Software Requirements
- Required:
- Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (minimum 5+ years).
- Hands-on knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, or similar.
- Extensive experience with open-source configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming with languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, or similar.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and deployment best practices.
- Preferred:
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code frameworks and tools such as CloudFormation, ARM templates, or Terraform.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Splunk.
- Expertise in security best practices related to cloud and automation.
Overall Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable DevOps solutions supporting both cloud and on-premises environments.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and configuration management to streamline software delivery processes.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast, reliable, and secure releases.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements proactively to maximize uptime and efficiency.
- Perform security reviews and implement best practices to safeguard cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
- Develop and maintain documentation of architecture, processes, and operational procedures.
- Keep abreast of emerging DevOps tools, cloud features, and security standards, sharing insights with relevant stakeholders.
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages (Required):
- Bash, Python, or Groovy (minimum 3 years hands-on scripting and automation experience).
Cloud Technologies (Required):
- AWS, Azure, or GCP (experience with at least 2 cloud providers recommended).
Containerization & Orchestration (Required):
- Docker, Kubernetes (experience with deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications).
Configuration Management & Automation (Required):
- Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
CI/CD Tools (Required):
- Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, or equivalent.

Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years in software development and DevOps engineering roles with broad technology exposure.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud migration, automation, and container orchestration.
- Proven track record working with open-source tools and managing complex infrastructure environments.
- Experience supporting continuous integration/delivery pipelines in agile settings.
- Industry experience across finance, technology, or enterprise services preferred but not mandatory.
- Alternative pathways include extensive experience in infrastructure engineering with a focus on automation and cloud deployment.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to understand application requirements and define deployment strategies.
- Develop, test, and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code configurations and automation scripts.
- Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and reliable delivery cycles.
- Monitor platform health, respond to incidents, and implement preventive measures to ensure system stability.
- Conduct security assessments in cloud and automation environments, applying necessary controls.
- Participate in architecture discussions, review design proposals, and enforce best practices.
- Document system configurations, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
- Keep current with evolving cloud, automation, and security technologies, recommending improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Over 10 years of professional experience in software development, cloud, and infrastructure automation.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Expert, Google Professional Cloud Engineer, or DevOps-related credentials are advantageous.
