Job Description

This role is for a DevOps Engineer to design, develop, and operate internal Code Hub Platform Engineering services on AWS, GitHub, and Artifactory. Responsibilities include implementing infrastructure-as-code, automation pipelines using Terraform and GitHub Actions, and leading improvements in scalability, reliability, and developer experience. The engineer will monitor service performance, cost-efficiency, observability, and compliance with SRE best practices, promoting engineering best practices and contributing to the Backstage Developer Portal.
Must have:
  • Design, develop, and operate internal Code Hub Platform Engineering services.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation pipelines using Terraform, GitHub Actions.
  • 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#.
  • Experience with cloud-native development and deployment on AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch).
  • Experience designing, securing, and scaling CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
Good to have:
  • Comfortable working with container-based systems (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with modern observability tooling.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Job Details

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and operate internal Code Hub Platform Engineering services on top of our AWS/GitHub/Artifactory foundational layer.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation pipelines using Terraform, GitHub Actions, and other DevOps tools.
  • Lead or co-lead improvements in scalability, reliability, and developer experience for mission-critical services.
  • Monitor and continuously improve service performance, cost-efficiency, observability, and compliance with SRE best practices.
  • Promote engineering best practices, InnerSource contributions, knowledge sharing and feedback gathering across platforms and Business Units.
  • Contribute to and support the Backstage Developer Portal as a gateway to platform capabilities and self-service workflows.

Minimum required Education:

Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.

Minimum required Experience:

  • 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with proficiency in at least one modern language (e.g., TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#).
  • Experience with cloud-native development and deployment, especially on AWS (e.g., ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch).
  • Experience designing, securing, and scaling CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and infrastructure-as-code tools.

Preferred Education:

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent

Preferred Skills:

  • Comfortable working with container-based systems (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and modern observability tooling.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work cross-functionally across Business Units, security and platform teams.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
