The Opportunity

“DevOps Engineering Enablement - Focus on implementing DevOps practices and tools to increase efficiency, collaboration, and communication between development and operations teams with the goal to improve software delivery speed, quality, and reliability. It involves the adoption of Agile methodologies, automation, continuous integration and continuous deployment, and other DevOps principles.” – VP, DevOps Engineering Enablement

What You’ll Contribute

  • You have an opportunity to be part of a world-class DevOps engineering team to empower our product and engineering organization to innovate at the speed of business.
  • You will contribute to developing a DevOps Engineering System through building strong relationship with DevOps enablement team, change management team, Product and Engineering, Global Technology Services, cyber security, education, and professional services organizations.
  • You will report to the DevOps engineering lead. You will support the engineering lead to build a strategy with a coherent plan, apply modern and resilient DevOps pattern, implement, and continuously improve an end2end DevOps engineering system.
  • You will work with the engineering lead to define, communicate, enable, and institutionalize the best DevOps practices for product engineering teams through an enterprise-wide engineering system.
  • You will partner closely with the DevOps enablement SMEs such as Automation SMEs, Quality SMEs, Security SMEs to architect, design and implement One Engineering System, and then guide and help Product and Engineering teams to adopt One Engineering System. You will also work with Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve the DevOps process through frequent feedback loops.
  • You will work with the product architecture lead, security lead and global technology services lead to define and adopt the best DevOps tools to enable both FICO pipeline and Platform pipeline.
  • You will bring engineering disciplines and system thinking into your design and implementation so you can maximize the flow of DevOps value stream.
  • You need to use data to inform decision making. Analyze data for trends and potential pain points and use this to prioritize and inform how to improve your engineering product.
  • You need to gather feedback from key stakeholders and provide recommendations on the best way to advance your team’s objectives.
  • You need to act as an agent for change within the organization to build strong teams and advance FICO’s platform first agenda.
  • FICO Platform provides the ideal foundation companies need to marry the power of human expertise and logic with artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to drive smarter, faster, and more profitable business outcomes. You will be responsible for building the One Engineering System to be used by our product engineering organization that builds the world class FICO platform.

  • Ideal candidate leads by example to embrace DevOps culture and mindset including culture of experimentation, collaboration, co-create, continuous improvement, and outcome over output.
  • Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience working asynchronously in a remote, distributed team. Experience working global teams.
  • The right candidate will have a combination of experience in DevOps and Development side. Coding skills in any of these three will be needed (Python, Go, Java)
  • Strong communication skills, with clear verbal communication as well as written communication skills.
  • A highly empathic DevOps practitioner who can interact with Product and Engineering teams with a growth mindset.
  • Collaborative style: partners well with cross-functional teams solve hard problems and to complete complex deliverables with quality and business outcome.
  • Ability to work across organizations with Product management, Product Engineering, Cyber Security, UX, Global Technology Services, Legal, education and professional services.
  • Experienced in software automation, test automation, software development, product engineering, DevOps engineering, or equivalent experience with a proven ability to work in a product and engineering organization.
  • K8S, AWS, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Java, GitHub, kafka, Open-Source working experience is highly preferred.
  • Test automation and Application Security (DevSecOps) experience is highly preferred.
  • ArgoCD and CrossPlane knowledge and experience is highly preferred.
  • A calm and problem-solving personality when dealing with production issues is highly preferred.
  • This role has responsibilities of infra engineering and Infra production support for our platform.
  • Community experience is preferred. An ideal candidate is someone who can demonstrate collaboration skills, show leadership potential, demonstrate a commitment to personal growth, and shows a commitment to social responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in highly related field; Advanced degree a plus.
