The Director, Deal Desk will be a highly operational and team-oriented leader within Vimeo's finance organization. This role requires a strong people leader with proven experience managing global employees and exceptional organizational and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will collaborate effectively across various functions, develop and execute organizational alignment initiatives to enhance sales cycle efficiency, and possess outstanding communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key responsibilities include leading the deal desk team, collaborating with sales, legal, product, and finance teams to structure complex deals, managing non-standard approval processes, preparing performance reports, owning Deal Desk systems, leading the transition to automated processes using AI, establishing policies and best practices, and mentoring the team.
Must have:

  • Deep knowledge of Zuora and Salesforce
  • Experience implementing automation

Job Details

The Director, Deal Desk will be a highly operational and team-oriented leader within Vimeo's finance organization. We are seeking a strong people leader with a proven track record of effectively managing global employees who possess exceptional organizational and leadership skills, demonstrating a proven ability to collaborate effectively across various functions. Furthermore, this individual will be adept at developing and executing organizational alignment initiatives focused on enhancing efficiency across the sales cycle. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, a proactive approach to identifying potential issues, and the ability to build solutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership and management for the deal desk team located in the US and internationally.
  • Foster strong relationships and collaborate effectively with sales, legal, product and finance teams to facilitate smooth deal progression and resolve issues.
  • Partner with sales, legal, and finance teams to structure complex deals, ensuring optimal pricing, terms, and conditions that maximize profitability and minimize risk while remaining competitive.
  • Manage non standard approval process to ensure profitability and deal closing efficiency.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on finance operations performance to senior management.
  • Serve as the primary business owner for Deal Desk-related systems and tools, including deep knowledge of Zuora for billing and revenue operations and Salesforce for CRM and sales pipeline management. Drive system enhancements and integrations to support automation initiatives
  • Lead the transition from manual deal processes to a highly automated system leveraging AI and best-in-class tools. This includes identifying automation opportunities, evaluating and implementing new technologies, and designing streamlined workflows.
  • Establish, document, and enforce deal desk policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency. Develop and deliver training to improve sales effectiveness and adherence to deal desk policies.
  • Mentor a high-performing Deal Desk team as the company scales.

Skills and knowledge you should possess:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience leading a deal desk team, with a significant portion in leadership roles within technology companies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and scaling teams across multiple locations, including international experience.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact and influence individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to work effectively cross-functionally and build strong collaborative relationships.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and optimizing deal desk processes, with a strong emphasis on automation and leveraging AI.
  • Deep functional and technical knowledge of Zuora and Salesforce is mandatory. Experience with other CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) tools is a plus.
  • Proven experience implementing automation to increase efficiency and control.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Required experience with Salesforce, Zuora, and Zuora CPQ

Base Salary Range:

  • NYC Metro: $167,000 to $228,500
