Job Summary

Qualcomm is seeking a Director, Linux Platform for its Automotive Compute Platform Software team in Bangalore. This role involves driving the architecture and development of Linux platform features for Arm-based Automotive SoCs, leading multiple teams, defining strategic software roadmaps, and ensuring Safety Compliance. The director will also define and implement Automotive use cases, drive system validation, and manage robust release processes, while actively engaging with stakeholders and contributing to the mainline Linux kernel.

Must Have

  • Drive architecture and development of Linux platform features for Arm-based Automotive SoCs across generations.
  • Lead multiple teams of architects, technical leads, and software engineers in delivering key features and driving Safety Compliance.
  • Define strategic software roadmap and deliver on the vision of best-in-class platform capabilities for Qualcomm SoCs.
  • Define and implement Automotive use cases, drive system validation methodologies, and robust release management processes.
  • Actively manage stakeholders (internal & external), product roadmap, and delivery plans.
  • Drive upstream contributions to the mainline Linux kernel, ensuring long-term maintainability and community alignment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience (or Master's with 7+ years, PhD with 6+ years).
  • 4+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
  • 20+ years in the Linux embedded domain designing, developing, and supporting software solutions on multi-core ARM CPUs.
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills.
  • Embedded platform experience including low-level drivers, firmware, kernel, and user-space components on Automotive Grade Linux and Yocto build systems.
  • Detailed understanding of SoC hardware blocks (Clocks, PLLs, GPIO, Interrupt Controllers), peripherals (SPI/I2C/PCIe/CAN/Ethernet/USB/UFS), and power management.
  • Experience designing software for heterogeneous compute platforms (ARM, GPU, DSP, accelerators) in embedded SoC systems with JTAG or ICE debuggers.
  • Hands-on experience leading medium to large technical teams.

  • Ability to span abstraction levels across system design, OS, HW/SW interface, and silicon implementation.

  • Familiarity with ISO 26262, functional safety, and safe Linux.

Minimum Qualifications:
