Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with CG supervisor/Environment Lead to meet briefs set by the VFX supervisor.
- Ability to create photo-realistic digital matte paintings.
- Performing tasks such as basic modelling, texturing and layout.
- Assisting with and developing the look of a shot/sequence in liaison with the supervision team.
- Work in partnership with Lighting TD’s, Compositors and LookDev artists to ensure shots are delivered to the very highest standard.
- Seeking out and building your own photographic reference material.
- Communicating regularly with Production and Leads regarding schedules and deadlines while maintaining the highest levels of quality.
- Identifying issues and finding technical and creative solutions.
Must Have
- A minimum of 2 years industry experience working in DMP/Environment.
- Thorough knowledge of digital matte painting techniques using photoshop.
- The ability to setup DMP projections, including creating of DMP cameras and geometry for projections in Nuke.
- Able to work from photo reference or concept art when available.
- Understanding of the artistic and technical principles of composition and colour.
- Professional working knowledge of Maya, Nuke and Photoshop.
- Houdini experience ideal
- Ability to collaborate with and work with a team of artists.
- Previous experience working in a Linux environment
- Strong artistic skills required.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of 3D modelling and rendering programmes.
- Strong eye for detail and aesthetic design.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills; experience working under tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player who is able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Great work ethic and positive attitude.
