Job Description

PHINIA develops gasoline and hydrogen injection systems for internal combustion engines at its Blois site. The company aims to integrate environmental impact considerations into its product development. The apprentice will quantify and optimize the environmental impacts of products from their design and manufacturing stages, supporting development teams in finding solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
Must have:
  • Identify and participate in the implementation of suitable tools for eco-design.
  • Participate in the improvement of the development process by integrating eco-design.
  • Perform environmental impact analyses on product concepts or modifications via LCA software.
  • Communicate, raise awareness, and involve teams on environmental impacts and what can be done to improve.
  • Understand and analyze the end-of-life of one of our products (bibliographic study, information research, etc.).
  • Monitor eco-design in the automotive and mechanical sectors (regulations, publications, etc.).

JOB PURPOSE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Context:

PHINIA develops gasoline and hydrogen injection systems for internal combustion engines at its Blois site. We aim to integrate environmental impact considerations into our developments.

Main Responsibilities:

Participate in the quantification and optimization of the environmental impacts of the products we develop, to act from their design and manufacturing, by supporting development teams to find solutions at each stage of the product life cycle.

Missions:

  • Identify and participate in the implementation of suitable tools for eco-design;
  • Participate in the improvement of the development process by integrating eco-design;
  • Perform environmental impact analyses on product concepts or modifications via LCA software;
  • Communicate, raise awareness, and involve teams on environmental impacts and what can be done to improve;
  • Understand and analyze the end-of-life of one of our products (bibliographic study, information research, ...);
  • Monitor eco-design in the automotive and mechanical sectors (regulations, publications, ...)

Desired start: September 2025

Contract duration: 1 to 3 years

Location: Blois

Candidate profile: Eco-design Engineer.

Required qualities: Curious, autonomous, open-minded, good interpersonal skills, proactive, English B2.

Knowledge and Mastered Tools: eco-design, sustainable development, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, knowledge of LCA software would be a plus, materials and processes.
