[EE2211] OTA Update System Development Engineer (General Layer, General Manager/Staff)

Job Description

① Development area, business overview, and role/position within R&D of the assigned organization

• Design of systems for updating in-vehicle component firmware via wireless communication (requirements definition/analysis/detailed specification definition)
• Standardization (ISO certification) of software management and update systems compliant with regulatory requirements, and creation of documents for submission to authorities for product certification.
• System integration testing.

② Specific job duties and expected role/position within and outside the department

1. System design for update target components and their infrastructure functions/components in vehicles equipped with wireless update systems.

2. Specification Q&A and joint testing with individual component suppliers.

3. Construction of simulators and bench test setups for integration testing.

4. Standardization activities for systems through industry organizations (Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan, JASPAR, AUTOSAR).

③ Workplace environment and working style (member composition, workplace atmosphere, characteristics)

Work is carried out in collaboration with suppliers, including overseas partners, over 30 component design teams, and IT departments developing server and smartphone applications. In addition to email, business trips and conference calls are frequent.

Basically, there are almost no pre-defined routine tasks; the stance is to identify and solve new challenges independently and standardize what can be standardized.

MUST

Experience in one of the following development areas:

• Experience in embedded software development.
• Knowledge of vehicle electronic architecture design.
• Knowledge of electronic device communication.
• Development and project management of large-scale server and client systems.

Automotive industry experience: desirable.

TOEIC: 600 points or more.

WANT

• Design, experimental experience, and functional safety (ISO26262) of automotive electronic/electrical systems or components.
• Knowledge of in-vehicle communication networks (e.g., CAN communication, in-vehicle Ethernet, UDS (ISO14229), Diagnostic on CAN (ISO15765) MAC, etc.).
• Practical development experience with in-vehicle embedded software.

TOEIC: 730 points or more.

230,000 JPY to 439,000 JPY

• Will be comprehensively determined based on experience and expertise.

Estimated annual income (reference value)

Approximately 4.1 million JPY to 7.6 million JPY

• Monthly salary x 12 months + bonus (estimated value)
• Bonus amount is a reference value; actual payment timing, amount, payment conditions, etc., will be determined separately each time.
• Overtime allowance, etc., will be paid separately based on employee wage regulations.
