We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented designer to join our reputable consultant firm. As a designer, you will play a crucial role in producing accurate and high-quality technical drawings and documentation for various engineering projects. Your expertise in drafting and proficiency with CAD software will be essential in supporting our engineering team and contributing to the successful execution of projects. The Electrical Protection Engineer will design, review, and implement protection schemes, conduct system studies, program and test protective relays, and investigate electrical faults. They will also prepare technical documentation, support commissioning, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Must Have
- Design, review, and implement protection schemes for substations, transmission, and distribution networks.
- Conduct protection system studies, including relay coordination, fault analysis, and load flow analysis.
- Program, configure, and test protective relays.
- Investigate electrical faults, analyze root causes, and provide corrective action plans.
- Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and reports related to protection systems.
- Support commissioning, testing, and maintenance of electrical protection equipment.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, SEC, NEC).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power/Protection specialization preferred).
- Minimum years of experience in electrical protection engineering within utilities, EPC, or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of protection systems, relays, and power system analysis software (ETAP, DIgSILENT, PSCAD, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with relay programming, SCADA, and automation systems.
- Familiarity with international standards (IEC, IEEE) and local regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Professional certification (e.g., PE, PMP) is an advantage.

Job Description

- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, SEC, NEC).
- Collaborate with design, operations, and maintenance teams to enhance system reliability.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians.
Qualifications
