Job Description

As an Engagement Partner at PayPal, you will lead the implementation of specialized solutions for the company's largest global merchants. This role involves deeply understanding client needs to deliver best-in-class solutions. You will collaborate closely with Product Management, providing market feedback and communicating product direction to sales. Maintaining expertise in PayPal's products, industry trends, and internet technologies is crucial. The position requires strong presentation, communication, and customer relations skills, along with a minimum of five years' experience in engagement or integration management, and significant background in internet technologies and payment systems.
Must have:
  • Oversee implementation of specialized solutions for large global merchants.
  • Deliver best-in-class solutions by understanding merchant needs.
  • Partner with Product Management, providing market feedback on product gaps.
  • Communicate product direction and design to the sales organization.
  • Maintain deep domain and product knowledge of PayPal offerings.
  • Stay current on product roadmap, features, and industry trends.
  • Support sales team directly and build effective relationships.
  • Mentor and train presales team members on products and messages.
  • Share critical technical experience within the Presales team.
  • Present to large name brand merchants successfully.
  • Possess strong internet technologies experience (Web Services/SOAP, HTML, HTTP, FTP, SSL).
  • Knowledge of PayPal products or payment processing.
  • Exhibit exceptional written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent organization and presentation skills.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations skills.
  • Analyze customer requirements and coordinate with existing products.
  • Minimum 5 years experience as lead Engagement Manager or integration team manager.
  • 4+ years internet technologies, programming/system architecture experience.
  • 2+ years PayPal or other payment experience.
  • Travel required (15%+).

Job Details

Primary Job Responsibilities

Partner with Product Management. Provide feedback from the market regarding products, including coordinating gaps between product functionality and market/customer demands.

Maintain Domain and Product Knowledge. Understand the business and technical problems the PayPal products address. Stay current on product roadmap as well as understanding the scenarios, features, and functions within each of the products and how these address business and technical problems of our merchants. Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets.

Partner with the sales team and provide direct support as needed. Build effective working relationship with the sales management and sales engineering teams.

Mentor others to share knowledge and best practices to advance the sales of our products and technologies. Develop and deliver training on business problems, products, and messages for presales team members. Collect and Share Lessons Learned- Share critical technical experience with the rest of the Presales team, both formally and informally.

Job Requirements

  • Proven success in presenting to large name brand merchants
  • A passion for learning new technologies and solving problems, and interacting with a variety of name brand merchants.
  • Experience with Internet technologies a must (Web Services/SOAP, HTML, HTTP, FTP, and SSL).
  • Knowledge of PayPal products and services or Experience with Payments (Credit Card, Banking, Online, Offline).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and listening skills.
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Well-developed presentation skills
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Ability to analyze customer requirements and coordinate with existing products
  • PMP (optional)
  • Travel required (15%+).

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as lead Engagement Manager and/or manager of Engagement / Integration Team
  • 4+ years internet technologies, programming/system architecture experience.
  • 2+ years of PayPal or other payment experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills.
