We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our growing Software Engineering organization in the USA. We’re made up of a set of cross-functional squads, each with a specific area of ownership across the Oura product. You will manage a mix of frontend and backend engineers within the Commerce domain and you’ll take great pride in coaching and guiding engineers through their careers. You’ll be responsible for hiring great talent and building teams and will contribute to organizational development as we continue to scale.

What you will do:

  • Provide leadership, mentorship and guidance to a team focused on converting prospective customers into happy members of Oura’s health ecosystem.
  • Be part of a revenue-generating organization with a charter to increase Oura’s brand recognition and drive product sales.
  • Partner with Product and cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-wide solutions for internal and external stakeholders that enable Commerce solutions at scale.
  • Drive and continuously refine team processes (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives, incident reviews) to ensure predictable delivery, fast feedback cycles, and high team morale.
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement by creating structured feedback loops, measuring team health and delivery metrics, and acting on learnings from retrospectives and stakeholder input.

Requirements

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in an engineering management role leading full-stack teams.
  • Proven ability to own people, process, and priorities — balancing technical delivery with team development and product alignment.
  • Solid technical background, with the ability to help guide architectural decisions in full-stack technology stacks like:
  • Front-end: ReactJS, TypeScript, HTML, and GraphQL
  • Back-end: NodeJS, SOA, DynamoDB, RDBMS, AWS (cloud hosting)
  • Demonstrated experience driving growth-oriented initiatives balancing the need to scale systems for increasing volume while maintaining flexibility.
  • Adept at collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Marketing to translate business goals into engineering outcomes.
  • Skilled in modern agile methodologies and able to tailor processes to match the needs of a fast-paced, experimentation-driven team.
  • Passion for building inclusive, high-performing teams, with a track record of mentoring engineers and supporting career growth.
  • Excellent communication decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize ruthlessly in a dynamic environment.
