Job Description

Side is seeking a LatAM Spanish Translator for its global translation operations. The role involves accurately translating video game content and associated text from English into LatAM Spanish, adhering to product-specific guidelines for linguistic quality. The translator will work within a team of language specialists, contributing to high-quality translations through direct work or documentation review, ensuring adherence to deadlines and industry standards.
Must have:
  • Create or helps create glossaries and style guides following pre-defined guidelines from the client
  • Create or helps create characterisation documents
  • Carry out translation work following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology
  • Carry out revision work following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology
  • Work as part of a larger team of translators or revisers
  • Provide linguistic feedback for work carried out externally
  • All work is carried out by meeting the outlined deadlines and industry-standard productivity figures
  • Native-level Fluency in LatAM Spanish and English
  • Strong cultural understanding of LatAM Spanish culture
  • Be proactive with clear and effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good organisation and problem-solving skills and have a “can-do” attitude and positive thinking
  • The ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and stay focused
  • Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Sound research and translation judgment skills, and have self-motivation, adaptability, and professionalism
  • Candidate must reside within Portugal with legal right to live and work in Portugal
Good to have:
  • Experience within the translation industry or working professionally as a Translator is a plus
  • Knowledge of business software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, memoQ, Plunet) is an advantage

About the role

Side is currently recruiting a LatAM Spanish Translator for our global translation operation. We're looking for candidates with advanced language skills and in-depth cultural knowledge of LatAM Spanish.

You will be responsible for correctly translating video game content and acting as an interpreter to change other associated text into LatAM Spanish from English. You will follow product-specific guidelines to ensure the maximum linguist quality and adherence to all relevant conventions. You will be working as part of a team of language specialists to produce high-quality translations, either by translating yourself or reviewing documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
