Job Description

As an Enterprise Architect, you will partner with business stakeholders to design and architect comprehensive insurance solutions across products, distribution, and customer service. This role involves championing lean business cases, driving innovation through proof-of-concepts, and leading solution roadmap development focused on measurable business outcomes. You will demonstrate thought leadership, mentor a team of solution architects and business analysts, and collaborate with senior leadership and engineering teams on key architectural decisions. The position requires staying abreast of emerging technology trends, acting as a bridge between technology and business teams, and ensuring adherence to standards, data privacy, and best practices.
Must have:

  • Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
  • Experience with Microservices architecture, REST APIs, messaging.
  • Understanding of event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS EventBridge).
  • Proficiency in AWS Cloud Services (EC2, S3, RDS, API Gateway, IAM, CloudWatch).
  • Strong expertise in application security, OAuth2, JWT, API security.
  • Knowledge of OOPS principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with application performance monitoring and optimization.
  • Excellent communication, client-facing, and leadership skills.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with UI frameworks (React, Angular, Bootstrap).
  • Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Hands-on knowledge of Agile/DevOps with automated testing and continuous delivery.
  • Experience defining enterprise security architecture, data privacy, encryption, compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to design and architect comprehensive insurance solutions across products, distribution channels, and customer service capabilities.
  • Champion lean business cases and drive innovation through proof-of-concepts for new business capabilities.
  • Lead solution roadmap development with a focus on measurable business outcomes.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and mentor a team of solution architects and business analysts.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, engineering teams, and product managers to make key architectural decisions aligned with business strategy.
  • Stay abreast of emerging business technology trends, evaluating their feasibility and potential impact on our technology stack and architecture.
  • Act as a bridge between technology teams and business teams, embedding new digital and automation capabilities into existing systems for improved customer experience.
  • Ensure adherence to standards, patterns, data privacy regulations, and best practices across all systems and platforms.
  • Publish strategic roadmaps, white papers, and engage peer architects in forming strategies for solving key business imperatives.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects to define standards, design patterns, and evaluate enterprise technologies.
  • Articulate strategic initiatives to executive leaders and business unit leaders.
  • Participate in talent development, mentoring, and recruiting for architecture and development teams.

Core Skills

  • Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud for building scalable enterprise solutions.
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing Microservices architecture with REST APIs, asynchronous messaging, and integration patterns.
  • Strong understanding of event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS EventBridge.
  • Proficiency in AWS Cloud Services, including:
  • Compute & Containerization: EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda
  • Storage & Databases: S3, RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL/Oracle), DynamoDB
  • Networking & Integration: API Gateway, Load Balancer, SNS, SQS, EventBridge
  • Security & IAM: IAM, KMS, Cognito, Secrets Manager
  • Monitoring & DevOps: CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CodePipeline, CodeDeploy
  • Strong expertise in application security, including OAuth2, JWT, API security, and secure coding practices.
  • Knowledge of OOPS principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Good knowledge of application performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills with proven client-facing and leadership experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestration of containerized Java applications.
  • Familiarity with UI frameworks (React, Angular, Bootstrap) for end-to-end solution design.
  • Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Hands-on knowledge of Agile/DevOps environments with automated testing and continuous delivery.
  • Experience in defining enterprise security architecture, covering data privacy, encryption, and compliance standards.
