Rolls-Royce is seeking an experienced Environment Business Partner to join their Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Compliance team in Derby. This new role supports Rolls-Royce's journey to Zero Harm by providing professional services in risk, assurance, and compliance. The successful candidate will lead environmental risk assessments, ensure legal and internal compliance, partner with HSE teams and regulators, coach on best practices, investigate incidents, and influence sustainable practices across the business. This position offers an opportunity to drive continuous improvement and make a significant environmental impact within an iconic global brand.
Must have:
  • Lead environmental risk assessments and implement robust controls.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and internal environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with HSE teams and regulators on assurance programs.
  • Coach business units on environmental best practices.
  • Investigate major environmental incidents and share learnings.
  • Influence stakeholders for sustainable and responsible practices.
  • Hold a degree or postgraduate qualification in Environment.
  • Possess significant experience in engineering or manufacturing.
  • Be a member of a recognised professional environmental body.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Have experience with regulators and senior stakeholders.

Job Details

Full Time 37 hours per week Hybrid – with Travel

We are looking for an experienced Environment Business Partner to join the Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Compliance team based in Derby (Other UK locations will be considered). This is an exciting new role working with the Senior Environmental Manager in supporting on their Journey to Zero Harm through a range of professional services. This will enable you to deep dive into Risk, Assurance, and Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental risk assessments and ensure robust controls are in place

We’re looking for an experienced environmental professional who can bring credibility, expertise, and influence. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in Environment (or related field).
  • Significant experience in engineering, manufacturing, or similar industries.
  • Membership of a recognised professional environmental body.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to take a stand when needed.
  • Experience working with regulators and senior stakeholders at all levels.
  • The ability to navigate complex organisations and build strong relationships.
  • Exposure to global operations (a plus, but not essential).
