Apple News is seeking an experienced audio leader to oversee shows and identify new opportunities to engage audiences. This role involves joining an editorial team, working with publishing partners, and making real-time coverage decisions. The Executive Producer will provide direction and feedback for daily and weekly podcasts, supervise topics, guests, scripts, pacing, and overall quality, and lead strategic conversations with various teams to enhance products with trustworthy, quality information.
Must Have
- 5-7+ years experience working on high-quality editorial audio products and in breaking news situations
- Deep expertise and understanding of news and strong editorial judgement
- Fluent with data and analytics, and capable of incorporating user behavior into your editorial strategy
- Experience working with video and social teams, with fluency in production and platform relationships
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Ability to collaborate and work productively across a large organization
- Extraordinary writing, story-telling, and presentation skills and the ability and desire to grow those skills in others
- Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills
Good to Have
- Experience working cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams
- Experience producing across multiple sites, remote studios and field production
- Previous newsroom leadership roles

We are a 24/7 news team making real-time coverage decisions based on the day’s biggest events. We work hand-in-hand with some of the world's biggest publishers, highlighting the best and most engaging content on our platform for our large national audience. We’re seeking an experienced audio leader to oversee our shows and identify new opportunities to engage audiences.
In this role, you will be joining an editorial team that works closely with our publishing partners to highlight the high-quality journalism our users rely on every day. Using your sound editorial judgement and audio expertise, you will give direction and feedback to the teams that produce our daily and weekly podcasts — supervising topics and guests, scripts, pacing, and overall quality. You will be innovative in working with new technologies to enhance our products — with the north star being trustworthy, quality information. You will lead strategic conversations with a wide range of people on different teams, including engineers, business leads, product managers, and creative partners. You will seek to understand the critical metrics for your projects and develop strategies to work towards them. And you will effectively communicate your vision for News audio to your team, your cross-functional colleagues, and Apple leadership.
Key Qualifications

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $212,300 and $319,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
