Finding solutions to climate change is the priority of the 21st century, and involves switching to low-carbon energy. At Assystem, our mission is to accelerate the energy transition worldwide. To achieve this, our 8000 Switchers combine their historical expertise in engineering and project management with digital technologies.
Present in 12 countries (Europe, Middle East, Asia), we work on the production and distribution of low-carbon electricity, through the development of nuclear and renewable energies. We also participate in the modernization of electricity grids and the electrification of uses, through hydrogen to decarbonize the transport and industry sectors.
Since government announcements for the construction of new EPRs and the emergence of alternative smaller capacity solutions (SMR, AMR), the nuclear sector is experiencing a new era of growth accompanied by new technological challenges.
Under the responsibility of our project manager, you will strengthen our teams in charge of control-command projects for new "game changer" nuclear actors who are developing "disruptive" technologies around Small and Advanced Modular Reactors (SMR / AMR).
These exciting projects combine agile engineering processes, massive use of digital tools (BIM, PLM, ...), and necessary compliance with national and international standards and regulations. They leverage the historical know-how that Assystem has built over the course of major nuclear programs.
I&C systems are at the heart of the operation of these facilities (operation, safety, security, etc.) just as they are for high-power reactors. Their development is part of the "Overall I&C" specification principles, which introduce functions, their classification, their allocation in adapted architectures providing safety and integrity, as well as compliance with the expectations of safety authorities. These elements are important bases for framing detailed studies and the subsequent realization of these systems.
As a Nuclear Instrumentation and Control Systems Architect, you will be responsible for design studies in the Detailed Preliminary Design (APD) phase:
🔹Functional specification of the various processes and equipment
🔹Design of control-command systems: allocation of functions to different systems, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and supervision (SCADA or SNCC) architecture, technical design.
🔹Consideration of normative and regulatory constraints (IEC 61511, IEC 61131 etc.) arising from global specifications,
🔹Drafting of specifications for future suppliers responsible for the development and realization activities of the systems,
🔹Participation in the selection of these suppliers.
You will also participate in the estimation of budgets and provisional schedules associated with the development of systems within your scope.
Frequent travel to Avignon is expected.
