Finding solutions to climate change is the priority of the 21st century, and involves switching to low-carbon energy. At Assystem, we have therefore made it our mission to accelerate the energy transition everywhere in the world. To achieve this, our 8000 Switchers combine their historical expertise in engineering and project management with digital technologies.
Present in 12 countries (Europe, Middle East, Asia), we work on the production and distribution of low-carbon electricity, through the development of nuclear and renewable energies. We also participate in the modernization of electricity grids and the electrification of uses, through hydrogen to decarbonize the transport and industry sectors.
Since government announcements for the construction of new EPRs and the emergence of alternative smaller capacity solutions (SMR, AMR), the nuclear sector is experiencing a new era of growth accompanied by new technological challenges.
Under the responsibility of our project manager, you will strengthen our teams in charge of electricity / instrumentation / control system projects for new "game changer" nuclear players who are developing "disruptive" technologies around Small and Advanced Modular Reactors (SMR / AMR).
These exciting projects combine agile engineering processes, massive use of digital tools (BIM, PLM, etc.) and necessary compliance with national and international standards and regulations. They leverage the historical know-how that Assystem has built over the course of major nuclear programs.
I&C systems are at the heart of the operation of these facilities (operation, safety, security, etc.) just as they are for high-power reactors. Their development is part of the "Overall I&C" specification principles which introduce functions, their classification, their allocation in adapted architectures providing safety and integrity as well as compliance with the expectations of safety authorities. These elements are important bases for framing detailed studies and the subsequent realization of these systems.
As an Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for studies in the Detailed Preliminary Design (APD) phase:
🔹 Design measurement systems and their interfaces with the process and mechanical design;
🔹 Technically specify Level 0 equipment: sensors and actuators (including motors and variable speed drives) and their electrical connection;
🔹 Take into account normative and regulatory constraints from global specifications;
🔹 Draft specifications for future suppliers;
🔹 Participate in the selection of these suppliers.
You will also participate in the estimates of budgets and provisional schedules associated with the development of systems within your scope.
💪 Assystem has over 55 years of experience in nuclear. We are among the top 3 largest nuclear engineering companies,
