Ramboll is seeking a Power Engineer/Senior Engineer/Discipline Lead for railway projects in Copenhagen or Aarhus, Denmark. The role involves working on all aspects of power relating to railway projects, from feasibility studies to implementation, test, and commissioning. You will contribute innovative systems engineering skills, helping clients specify, procure, and deliver power solutions. The position requires an electrical engineering degree or similar experience, preferably with hands-on experience in railway power design or construction. Responsibilities may include leading power teams, project engineering, and managing various electrical installations and power supply tasks.

  • Capabilities in the German language
  • Past experiences as a Railway Infrastructure Owner system supplier or as a consultant
Must Have:
  • Passion for Power engineering, especially in railways
  • Experience with power on the railway
  • Electrical engineering degree or similar experience
  • Hands-on experience in design or construction (preferably from railways)
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Strong technical capability in systems engineering
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to project manage defined packages of work
  • Solution-oriented, cooperative, and positive approach
  • Experience in electrical installations, cable calculations, cable sizing, cable routing paths, cable wells, distribution board sizing, lighting, emergency lighting, switch heating, power supply, emergency supply, speakers, railway potential equalization, earthing and bonding
  • For Discipline Lead: Ability to develop the area, lead power team on larger projects, assign tasks, support team, give input to monthly reporting, handle interfaces

You will join our Railway Electrification and Digitalization department

You will be a valuable team member in our Power and Signalling department – one of four departments in the Rail division, placed at headquarters in Copenhagen or our department in Aarhus. Here you will be part of a professional, strong and committed Rail business community with 350 people, including a strong power environment with power engineers working across the company.

We are currently heavily involved in some large track renewal projects and the Femern Tunnel as well as other large, and complex projects in the Nordic countries, Germany, Finland and UK. We continuously have several projects and assignments both locally and internationally – with focus on electrical installations, cables routing, lighting, power supply, switch heating and earthing and bonding.

We are looking for a power engineer as well as an experienced discipline lead, power and earthing and bonding. As Discipline lead, you should be able to develop the area and lead the power team on the larger projects, assign tasks, support your team, give input to the monthly reporting to the clients, and handle interfaces to other disciplines.

Pending on the project your key responsibilities may include one or more of the items listed below:

  • Discipline lead power supply and railway earthing and bonding (depending upon your qualifications)
  • Project engineering and management applying best practice in power engineering.
  • Participate in requirements specification, design and implementation of power supply and railway earthing and bonding.
  • Tender preparation, supplier selection and contract management

The ideal location for this job is in Copenhagen or Aarhus, Denmark, but other locations in Denmark can be negotiated.

We imagine you have an electrical engineering degree or similar experience, within power supply and/or earthing and bonding, preferably with hands on experience in design or construction, preferably from the railways.
