Must Have

  • Lead large, interdisciplinary projects within bridges, tunnels, major structures, and rail infrastructure.
  • Overall responsibility for project and design management from early planning to detailed design and execution.
  • Ensure strong technical governance, risk management, and quality assurance.
  • Motivate, develop, and lead high-performing project teams.
  • Build and maintain close relationships with clients, contractors, authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Responsible for major bids and project proposals, including strategy, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Relevant higher education (e.g., civil engineer or construction engineer).
  • Solid experience with large bridge, structure, and/or rail projects.
  • In-depth understanding of construction design and execution methods.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure and rail legislation and standards.
  • Fluent Danish and English.
  • Strategic approach, commercial understanding, and decision-making ability.

Your new role

As Project Director at Rambøll, you will lead interdisciplinary teams across bridges, structures, and rail. You will be responsible for the planning, design management, and execution of large and complex infrastructure projects. You will act as the overall project manager, ensuring strong technical governance, solid stakeholder management, and effective collaboration across disciplines and geographies.

You will be a central driving force in the delivery of complex bridge structures, major civil engineering and building projects, and rail projects – from the early planning and bidding phases to detailed design and execution phases.

As Project Director, you will become part of one of Denmark's strongest infrastructure professional environments, known for delivering significant projects within bridges, tunnels, road facilities, and rail infrastructure. Rambøll has contributed to some of the country's most complex transport and civil engineering projects, including large motorway expansions, major structures, tunnels, and rail-related facilities.

You will work closely with leading specialists in structures, geotechnics, rail, civil engineering, and sustainability – and help deliver projects that set new standards for technical quality, constructability, and durability.

Your main tasks

In this central role, you will:

  • Define and execute project strategy for large bridge, structure, and rail programs with a focus on technical quality, safety, and innovation.
  • Have overall responsibility for project and design management from early planning and bidding to detailed design and execution.
  • Ensure strong technical governance, risk management, and quality assurance in complex delivery models.
  • Motivate, develop, and lead high-performing project teams in a culture characterized by collaboration and professional development.
  • Build and maintain close relationships with clients, contractors, authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for major bids and project proposals, including strategy, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Challenge existing workflows and contribute to continuous improvements in delivery, constructability, and sustainability.

About you

  • Strong knowledge of legislation, standards, and forms of cooperation within infrastructure and rail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as fluent Danish and English.
