Must Have
- Provide deep technical expertise on PV, battery storage, and EV charging systems.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and Product Management teams.
- Develop and deliver local language technical documentation.
- Provide on-site and remote training for partners.
- Assist with the introduction and field testing of new products.
- Lead field testing and gather feedback on new hardware and software.
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Support, and Field Services teams.
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience with solar PV, battery storage, EV charging.
- Hands-on experience in design, engineering, and construction of PV, battery storage systems and EVSE.
- Fluent in French and/or German (C1 level) and English (B2 level).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems and data networks.
- Familiarity with local grid codes and electrical regulations.
- Experience with inverters, DC/AC systems, and grid interconnection methods.
- Understanding of system performance and economic modeling.

About the role
As a Field Applications Engineer, you will play a key role in providing technical support for installers and designers, focusing on pre-sales assistance, as well as on-site installation and commissioning of cutting-edge Enphase products. This position will be home-office based, with customer and site visits 2-3 days per week, and occasional travel to Enphase locations to collaborate with colleagues.
What you will do
- Technical support: Collaborate with the sales team to provide deep technical expertise on PV, battery storage and EV charging systems, helping to drive informed customer decisions.
- Product feedback: Serve as a liaison between customers and Product Management teams, delivering valuable insights on customer technical requirements for ongoing product improvement.
- Documentation creation: Develop and deliver local language technical documentation, including design guides, electrical diagrams, bills of materials, technical briefs, best practices, and training materials to support installers and partners.
- Training and commissioning support: Provide on-site and remote training for partners on installation and commissioning of PV, battery storage, and EV charging systems, ensuring best practices are followed.
- New product support: Assist with the introduction and field testing of new products, ensuring smooth product launches by coordinating customer-facing activities for New Product Introductions (NPI).
- Field testing: Lead field testing and gather feedback on new hardware and software, helping drive product innovation and enhancements.
- Collaborate for success: Work closely with Sales, Customer Support and Field Services teams to ensure a seamless, best-in-class customer experience.
What you bring
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of industry experience, with a deep understanding of solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and energy management applications, with hands-on experience in the design, engineering, and construction of PV, battery storage systems and EVSE.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Language skills: Fluent in French and/or German (minimum C1 level) and English (minimum B2 level) - essential
- Practical experience: Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems and data networks using tools like multi-meters, power quality analyzers, and data acquisition systems.
- Regulatory knowledge: Strong familiarity with local grid codes and electrical regulations for PV battery storage and EV charging installations.
- Systems expertise: Experience with inverters, DC/AC systems, and grid interconnection methods, as well as a solid understanding of system performance and economic modeling.
- Adaptability and travel: Willingness to travel locally, domestically, and occasionally internationally, with strong self-management and interpersonal skills to work remotely and build effective relationships with customers and colleagues.
