Job Description

Mimecast is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant for its Indian subsidiary. This role is ideal for a Chartered Accountant (CA) with 1-2 years of post-qualification experience, who thrives in a dynamic and rapidly expanding organization, and is enthusiastic about adapting to change and supporting the evolving needs of the business. The accountant will maintain accurate financial data, support reporting deliverables, ensure statutory compliance, and assist with audits.
Must have:
  • Maintain, interpret and deliver timely and accurate financial data including periodic US GAAP management results.
  • Support the preparation of key monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables, such as cash flow forecasts, variance analysis, and account reconciliations, ensuring the integrity of financial records.
  • Collaborate with external service providers to ensure timely compliance with all statutory filings, including GST, Income Tax, and Companies Act requirements.
  • Assist with the annual statutory audit and the preparation of financial statements under Indian GAAP.
  • Stay abreast of changes in Indian laws and regulations, assessing their potential implications for the business.
  • Contribute to the implementation of robust systems and processes to ensure ongoing compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Provide ongoing support to the Singapore subsidiary as required by the Financial Controller.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across functions and regions, contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Support in the preparation of technical accounting memos, complex accounting calculations and items requiring judgment.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 1–2 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP with working familiarity of US GAAP.
  • Solid understanding of Indian statutory laws, including the Companies Act, GST, and Income Tax.
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and approaches problem-solving thoughtfully.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement through analytical thinking and process optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
Good to have:
  • Articleship with a Big 4 firm preferred.
  • Prior experience in the IT industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP is an added advantage.

  • Solid understanding of Indian statutory laws, including the Companies Act, GST, and Income Tax
