Job Description

This Friction Engineer position involves leading the development programs of friction products for brake blocks and pads. The responsibilities include understanding friction products, executing product development, having a basic understanding of material characteristics, and knowledge of process development. The role requires working on development plans, test setups, customer complaint and failure analysis, preparing documentation, and communicating with internal and external customers. Key missions of the position:

  • To lead the development programs of friction products on brake blocks/ pads.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities:

  • Understand the friction products and execute the product development.

  • Basic understanding on material characteristics used in brake pads/blocks.

  • Knowledge on process development for brake block/pad applications will be added advantage.

  • Work out the development plans, test setups as required for the application and customer specifications.

  • Understand the physical tests of friction products.

  • Customer complaint and failure analysis activities.

  • Prepare the documentation and reports.

  • Interface and communicate with both internal and external customers on technical problems and their solutions.

  • Suggest process improvements to manufacturing to achieve the process capability and manufacture friction products to meet required specification.

Required Candidate Profile

Education/Training

  • Engineering degree or B.Sc/M.Sc/B.E/,

  • Expertise in friction related products like brake pad/block

Professional Experience

  • Experience of 2 to 6 years in brake pad/block development, engineering

  • Working experience and good knowledge on friction products and development

Competence & Level

MS office : Medium

Autocad : Medium

Communication : Medium

Problem Solving : Medium
