Location: Remote – Contiguous United States
Duration: 12 weeks, starting May 26 or June 8
Compensation: $31 per hour, 37.5 hours per week
At Vertex Inc., we create technology that empowers businesses—and we build teams that reflect the wide range of communities we serve. This Education and Enablement team is building a custom certification management site in preparation for Vertex’s application for ISO 17024 accreditation. As a Full Stack Developer Intern, you’ll contribute to new features such as integrations with third-party assessment platforms, forms for assessment scheduling, and workflows for managing candidates. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the stack—from database models to UI components and AWS deployment—in a focused two-person team.
What You’ll Experience
- Build and maintain features for a greenfield certification platform with long-term scalability
- Gain exposure to API design, database management, and dynamic UI development
- Troubleshoot AWS deployments, read logs, and understand how components fit together
- Write documentation for existing systems and contribute to new feature development
- Work in a 2-person team with direct 1:1 mentorship

What We’re Looking For
- Strong interest in full stack development and cloud-native applications
- Experience with Python and basic web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with GitHub workflows and testing practices
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team
- Curiosity and initiative to explore new technologies and solve real-world problems
Who Should Apply
- Students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and Spring/Summer 2028.
- Individuals excited by greenfield projects and hands-on development
- Prior internship experience is helpful but not required
