Job Summary

Blastworks is seeking a creative and experienced Game Designer to join their Product Team in Victoria, BC. This in-office role involves conceptualizing, designing, and prototyping innovative gameplay experiences for social casino and multiplayer titles. The designer will define game mechanics, meta-game features, and production documentation, collaborating across disciplines to align designs with business objectives and bring top-tier mobile gaming experiences to life.

Must Have

  • 5+ years proven experience as a Game Designer with multiple shipped titles, particularly in social mobile games.
  • Background in production leadership or product ownership roles for free-to-play mobile games.
  • Strong grasp of how probability and math models affect player experience and retention.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep understanding of player behavior and current gaming trends.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working cross-functionally.

Good to Have

  • Experience designing casino-style games, such as slots, bingo, or social mobile apps.

About the Role:

We’re seeking a creative and experienced Game Designer to join our Product Team. This in-office role is focused on conceptualizing, designing, and prototyping innovative and engaging gameplay experiences for our social casino and multiplayer titles. You’ll help define game mechanics, meta-game features, and production documentation—playing a key role in bringing top-tier mobile gaming experiences to life.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create compelling new game and feature concepts for social casino and multiplayer apps.
  • Develop detailed design specifications aligned with Blastworks technologies and existing game systems.
  • Collaborate across disciplines—including artists, developers, and stakeholders—to define gameplay mechanics and features.
  • Work closely with the technology, commercial, and product teams to align game designs with business objectives.
  • Produce detailed design documents, including game rules, user flows, and mechanics.
  • Conduct playtesting and iterative design to improve gameplay and player engagement.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback to improve the quality and performance of game features.

What You Bring:

Compensation:

Salary Range: $60,000 – $90,000 CAD annually.

Exact compensation will be based on skills and experience.
