Job description
A Game UI/UX Designer is responsible for designing the user interface and crafting the user experience for games across various platforms. They ensure that menus, buttons, HUD elements, and interactive components are both functional and aesthetically aligned with the game's art direction. UI/UX designers work closely with game designers, artists, and developers to create interfaces that enhance gameplay, improve accessibility, and support overall player immersion.
Responsibilities:
- Designing game menus, HUDs, icons, buttons, tooltips, and other interactive UI elements.
- Creating user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to map out intuitive player experiences.
- Collaborating with artists and developers to ensure seamless UI integration within game engines (Unity, Unreal, etc.).
- Maintaining a consistent visual language across all screens and devices.
- Conducting user testing and incorporating feedback to improve usability.
- Working with game designers to translate gameplay mechanics into accessible interfaces.
- Ensuring UI responsiveness and clarity across different resolutions and devices.
- Creating design documentation and style guides for UI/UX implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Game Design, or a related field (preferred).
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or Photoshop/Illustrator.
- Experience with prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, InVision, ProtoPie ).
- Familiarity with game engines like Unity or Unreal Enginefor UI integration.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design, accessibility, and usability best practices.
- Basic knowledge of motion graphics or animation tools is a plus (e.g., After Effects).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
