  • Strong sense of form, scale, proportion, and color theory.
  • Ability to optimize models for real-time performance without compromising quality.

Job description

A 3D Artist is responsible for producing visually appealing and technically optimized 3D models used in games, simulations, or interactive experiences. They work closely with concept artists, animators, and game designers to create models that align with the visual style and performance constraints of the project. From sculpting characters to building detailed environments, 3D artists play a vital role in shaping the overall aesthetic and immersion of the game.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating 3D assets including characters, props, vehicles, buildings, and environments.
  • Sculpting high-poly and low-poly models for use in real-time engines like Unity or Unreal.
  • Texturing and shading assets using tools like Substance Painter, Photoshop, or Quixel.
  • Ensuring models are game-ready, optimized for performance, and meet technical requirements.
  • Collaborating with the art director, animators, and technical team to maintain visual consistency.
  • Adhering to project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Implementing assets into the game engine and adjusting them as necessary.
  • Staying updated on the latest tools, trends, and techniques in 3D art.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Game Art, Animation, Fine Arts, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software like Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
  • Experience with texturing tools such as Substance Painter, Photoshop, or ZBrush.
  • Understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows.
  • Familiarity with game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.
