creā‑ture Studios Inc. is a hybrid studio in Montreal, Canada, focused on unique PC and Console IP. They seek an enthusiastic Junior/Midd. Level Artist for a 6-month contract. This role involves crafting immersive game environments, building foundational skills in modeling, texturing, and set dressing. The artist will collaborate with various teams, proactively implement feedback, and expand their skillset into lighting, basic tech art, and simple VFX, significantly shaping the project's visual identity within a lean, cross-disciplinary team.

Must Have

  • Assist in modeling and texturing environmental assets and props.
  • Create simple blockouts for areas of levels.
  • Set dress levels by placing props and assets to support visual storytelling.
  • Collaborate closely with senior artists and World Designers.
  • Implement feedback proactively to refine visual quality and optimize performance.
  • Actively learn and develop skills beyond environment art (e.g., lighting, basic tech art, simple VFX).
  • Assist with basic landscape adjustments and foliage placement.
  • Solid foundational proficiency of modeling/texturing/sculpting software (Maya/Blender/Substance Designer & Painter/ZBrush, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine workflows.
  • Strong foundational artistic skills in composition, color theory, and environmental storytelling.
  • A portfolio demonstrating foundational environment or level art abilities.

Good to Have

  • Familiarity with foliage creation tools such as SpeedTree

LEVEL ARTIST (Contract - 6 months)

creā‑ture Studios Inc. is a small, hybrid studio focused on making games in a different way. Based in Montreal, Canada, we bring together a mix of industry veterans and newcomers, providing a platform for everyone to contribute. Our goal is to keep the team lean and cross‑disciplinary, giving everyone the voice to collaborate and shape the process. We believe in empowering people—and it shows in everything we create. As part of the Nacon group, creā‑ture Studios Inc. is focused on PC and Console original IP. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Junior/Midd. Level Artist passionate about crafting vibrant, immersive game environments for a contractor role of approximately 6 months. On our smaller, agile team, you’ll build foundational skills in modelling, texturing, and set dressing while closely collaborating with World Designers, Environment Artists, Lighting Artists, Tech Artists, and the Art Director. This contract offers an ideal opportunity to rapidly gain autonomy, expand your skillset into adjacent areas such as lighting, basic tech art, and simple VFX, and meaningfully shape our project’s visual identity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in modeling and texturing of environmental assets and props.
  • Create simple blockouts for areas of levels.
  • Set dress levels by placing props and assets to support visual storytelling.
  • Collaborate closely with senior artists and World Designers to support gameplay and artistic objectives.
  • Implement feedback proactively to refine visual quality and optimize performance.
  • Actively learn and develop skills beyond environment art, contributing where needed (e.g., lighting, basic tech art, simple VFX).
  • Assist with basic landscape adjustments and foliage placement.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid foundational proficiency of modeling/texturing/sculpting software (Maya/Blender/Substance Designer & Painter/ZBrush, etc.) and familiarity with Unreal Engine workflows.
  • Strong foundational artistic skills in composition, color theory, and environmental storytelling.
  • Enthusiasm for expanding your skills into adjacent areas like lighting or technical art.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to adapt to changing project needs.
  • Self-driven learner comfortable working with guidance and supervision.
  • Familiarity with foliage creation tools such as SpeedTree is a bonus.
