crea-ture Studios Inc. is seeking a skilled VFX Artist to support their Technical Art Director on an unannounced new project. The role involves designing and implementing visual effects in Unreal Engine 5 using Niagara, Material Editor, and Blueprints, collaborating on VFX development, optimizing performance, creating assets, and supporting R&D. The artist will maintain documentation and stay updated with the latest VFX techniques to enhance the game’s visual impact.
Must Have:
  • Design and implement visual effects in Unreal Engine 5 using Niagara, Material Editor, and Blueprints.
  • Collaborate with Technical Art Director on VFX development.
  • Optimize VFX for performance and frame rates.
  • Create textures, models, and meshes for effects.
  • Support R&D, prototyping, shaders, and simulations.
  • Maintain VFX documentation, workflows, and pipelines.
  • Stay updated with latest VFX techniques and tools.
  • Experience as a VFX artist in game development (AAA or console/PC titles preferred).
  • Strong portfolio showcasing real-time VFX work.
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5), Niagara, Blueprint, shader creation.
  • Experience with common simulation techniques (cloth, water, vector fields).
  • Proficient in 3D and 2D DDC’s (3ds Max, Blender, Substance Designer, Photoshop, EmberGen, Houdini).
  • Strong artistic foundation, eye for animation principles, movement, rhythm, VFX motion.
  • Excellent understanding of real-time rendering and optimization constraints.

As part of the Nacon group, the studio focuses on PC and Console original IP. We are seeking a skilled VFX Artist to support our Technical Art Director on our yet to be announced new project!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement a range of visual effects in Unreal Engine 5 using Niagara, Material Editor, and Blueprints.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Art Director to brainstorm, design, and develop various visual effects (environmental effects, player abilities etc.)
  • Optimize VFX to maintain performance standards and improve frame rates.
  • Create textures, models, and meshes as needed for high-quality effects.
  • Support the team with R&D, prototyping new tools and techniques, and implementing shaders and simulations.
  • Maintain and update VFX documentation, workflows, and pipelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest VFX techniques and tools, integrating them to enhance the game’s visual impact.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience as a VFX artist in game development, with AAA or console/PC titles preferred.
  • Strong portfolio or reel showcasing real-time VFX work and creative problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5), particularly with Niagara, Blueprint, and shader creation.
  • Experience common simulation techniques such as but not limited to cloth, water simulation, vector fields, etc.
  • Proficient in industry-standard 3D and 2D DDC’s (e.g., 3ds Max, Blender, Substance Designer, Photoshop, EmberGen, Houdini).
  • Strong artistic foundation, with a good eye for animation principles, movement, rhythm, and real-world VFX motion.
  • Excellent understanding of real-time rendering and optimization constraints for VFX.
  • Strong collaborative skills; able to work well with artists, designers, and engineers to solve complex challenges.
  • Proactive, autonomous, and detail-oriented with a drive to deliver high-quality VFX.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
