Job Summary

Join a small design team on an unannounced project with a Senior team. We are looking for someone capable of participating in the creation of the project's VFX identity and defining the quality benchmark. Your main missions will be to define and ensure the artistic direction of FX, create and integrate visual effects using particle systems and adapted textures, balance visual quality and performance, collaborate with different teams for synergy between FX and gameplay, perform technological and artistic watch, and respect the game's visual identity.

Must Have

  • Define and ensure the artistic direction of FX, ensuring visual consistency with the game's universe in collaboration with the Project Art Director
  • Create and integrate visual effects using particle systems and adapted textures
  • Balance visual quality and performance, ensuring efficient integration of FX into the game engine
  • Collaborate with different teams to ensure perfect synergy between FX and gameplay
  • Perform technological and artistic watch to constantly innovate and improve the quality of visual effects
  • Respect and reinforce the game's visual identity, consistent with artistic direction and narration
  • Understand project constraints to deliver within production deadlines
  • Be proactive and autonomous, managing tasks from start to finish without constant supervision
  • Know how to give and receive feedback with peers and share best practices
  • Remain open to feedback
  • Understand the needs of other teams and technical constraints for the best in-game renderings

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

Key skills for this position

You are an artist passionate about real-time VFX and collaborate in service of gameplay

Technical:

  • Mastery of particle systems on game engines.
  • Knowledge of Unreal is a big plus.
  • Good knowledge of real-time game engines and production pipelines.
  • Skills in 2D creation tools (Photoshop...)

Reliability & Ownership

  • You understand project constraints to deliver within production deadlines.
  • You are proactive and autonomous and manage your subjects from A to Z without constant supervision

Team spirit and Mentoring
