Job Description

The General Accountant is responsible for managing cash activities, including loading bank statements into Oracle and entering cash receipts. They coordinate cash receipt adjustments, prepare bank pooling entries and reconciliations for all bank accounts. Additional responsibilities include month-end Accounts Receivable reconciliations, preparing journal entries, assisting with audit reviews, and handling ad-hoc requests and analysis. The role requires working independently under pressure to meet deadlines, with excellent communication skills.
Must have:
  • Post-Secondary education, College or University degree.
  • Bilingual (English and French) written and spoken.
  • Three to five years of Accounts Receivable experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of Oracle an asset.

Job Description:

  • Primary person for all Cash Management activities.
  • Ensure Bank Statements are loaded into Oracle and enter all cash receipts in subledger.
  • Coordinate cash receipt adjustments.
  • Prepare Bank pooling positioning entries.
  • Assist in month end closure.
  • Responsible to prepare all Bank Reconciliations for all Bank accounts.
  • Month end Accounts Receivable Reconciliations.
  • Prepare journal entries when necessary.
  • Cheque deposits as backup individual.
  • Assist during Audit reviews.
  • Adhoc requests and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education, College or University degree.
  • Bilingual (English and French) written and spoken.
  • Three to five years of Accounts Receivable experience.
  • Responsible and autonomous.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and ability to learn new applications with ease.
  • Knowledge of Oracle an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure of deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Detail oriented.
