Job Description

As the Global EDI Manager, you will lead the global Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) strategy and operations, ensuring seamless integration between the company and its global trading partners. You will oversee a team of analysts and collaborate with internal business units, external service providers, and IT architects to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient EDI solutions. This role is pivotal in driving digital transformation across the supply chain, finance, and sales functions. You will work on cutting-edge applications, develop breakthrough technologies, and deliver innovative solutions to leading automotive brands, helping make mobility safer, greener, and more connected.
Must have:
  • Lead global EDI strategy and operations.

  • Deliver scalable, secure, and efficient EDI solutions.
  • Drive digital transformation across supply chain, finance, and sales.
  • Define and execute global EDI roadmap.
  • Align EDI initiatives with enterprise architecture and business goals.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies (e.g., SAP BTP Integration Suite).
  • Ensure EDI initiatives align with broader IT and business strategies.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contracts, performance, and compliance.
  • Define, negotiate, and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Validate and approve vendor invoices.
  • Support vendor onboarding, contract lifecycle management, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure vendors are educated on integration technologies and standards.
  • Oversee day-to-day EDI operations, incident resolution, service requests, and project delivery.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and compliance of EDI systems.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers and trading partners.
  • Lead design, development, and deployment of EDI solutions across ERP platforms.
  • Ensure adherence to global EDI standards (EDIFACT, X12, VDA, ODETTE).
  • Support implementation of new business processes and customer requirements.
  • Address escalations and crisis situations.
  • Manage and mentor a global team of EDI analysts and integration specialists.
  • Promote a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Establish and enforce EDI governance, change management, and documentation standards.
  • Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support project governance.
  • Manage ambiguity and drive results with limited direction.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize.
  • 10+ years of experience in EDI and integration roles.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Deep knowledge of EDI standards (EDIFACT, X12, VDA, ODETTE).
  • Experience with ERP systems integration (SAP ECC and S4).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP EDI/ALE, SAP PI/PO or SAP Integration Suite (CPI).
  • Experience with IBM B2B Sterling Integrator.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage global stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Good to have:
  • Experience with iPaaS platforms and cloud-based integration strategies
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring tools
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Automotive industry experience

Position Summary

As the Global EDI Manager, you will lead the global Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) strategy and operations, ensuring seamless integration between our company and its global trading partners. You will oversee a team of analysts and collaborate with internal business units, external service providers, and IT architects to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient EDI solutions. This role is pivotal in driving digital transformation across the supply chain, finance, and sales functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Define and execute the global EDI roadmap aligned with the company’s integration strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Director of EDI and Integration to align EDI initiatives with enterprise architecture and business goals.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies (eg: SAP BTP Integration Suite) to modernize EDI capabilities.
  • Collaborate with PMO, IT Managers, and Service Delivery Managers to ensure EDI initiatives are aligned with broader IT and business strategies.
  • Vendor Management
  • Manage vendor relationships including contract renewals, performance reviews, and compliance tracking.
  • Define, negotiate, and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with EDI and integration service providers to ensure delivery quality and responsiveness.
  • Validate and approve vendor invoices, ensuring alignment with contractual terms and budget allocations.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Finance teams to support vendor onboarding, contract lifecycle management, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure vendors are educated on the integration technologies and standards through regular engagement and performance feedback.
  • Operational Management
  • Oversee day-to-day EDI operations, including incident resolution, service requests, and project delivery.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and compliance of EDI systems and integrations.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers and trading partners.
  • Solution Design & Delivery
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of EDI solutions across multiple ERP platforms (SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, QAD).
  • Ensure adherence to global EDI standards (EDIFACT, X12, VDA, ODETTE) and our integration architecture.
  • Support the implementation of new business processes and customer requirements through EDI.
  • Address escalations and crisis situations to minimize business impact and define long-term solutions.
  • Encourage reasonable risk-taking and support team members in navigating ambiguity and change.
  • Team Leadership
  • Manage and mentor a global team of EDI analysts and integration specialists.
  • Promote a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize in high-pressure environments.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in EDI and integration roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Deep knowledge of EDI standards (EDIFACT, X12, VDA, ODETTE) and integration with ERP systems (SAP ECC and S4).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP EDI/ALE, SAP PI/PO or SAP Integration Suite (CPI), IBM B2B Sterling Integrator.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage global stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Automotive industry experience is a strong plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with iPaaS platforms and cloud-based integration strategies.
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring tools.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
