Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven leader to head Version 1’s Capital Markets business in North America. This senior leadership role will focus on expanding strategic relationships and delivery footprint across top-tier investment banks and asset managers—with direct responsibility for key accounts like JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the capital markets landscape, an extensive CXO network, prior relationships with JP Morgan or Goldman Sachs, and a proven track record of scaling consulting and technology-led transformation programs within major financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sector Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute the North America Capital Markets growth strategy aligned to Version 1’s global Financial Services vision.
- Drive multi-year business expansion across investment banking, securities services, and market infrastructure clients.
- Shape differentiated propositions in front-to-back modernization, risk and regulatory transformation, data and AI engineering, and trade lifecycle automation.
2. Client Engagement & Business Growth
- Personally lead strategic relationships with JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs, driving account growth, stakeholder mapping, and multi-tower engagement. Account relationships with Jefferies is preferred but not mandatory
- Leverage existing executive relationships from prior roles with JP Morgan, Jefferies, or Goldman Sachs to accelerate entry and credibility.
- Build and nurture executive-level relationships with CTOs, CIOs, COOs, and Heads of Cap Markets Technology and Data.
3. Solution & Capability Development
- Partner with global practices (Data, Cloud, AI, Digital) to shape and deploy capital-markets-specific propositions such as trade surveillance, data remediation, and AI-driven compliance.
- Partner with global practices and domain to advise in development of accelerators and frameworks (e.g., for Basel III Endgame, DORA, and RegTech) relevant to the US and global regulatory landscape.
- Strengthen alliances with partners like AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, and niche fintechs supporting capital markets transformation.
4. Global Delivery & People Leadership
- Oversee a globally distributed delivery team and ensure high-quality program execution.
- Mentor regional domain leaders and support leadership hiring across key markets.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on innovation, excellence, and client outcomes. Embed an “engineering-first” and “outcome-driven” culture focused on measurable client impact.
5. Financial Management
- Own the P&L for Capital Markets North America, driving growth, profitability, and pipeline expansion.
- Lead annual revenue, TCV, and GP; track performance against board-aligned metrics.
Required Experience & Skills
- Extensive experience in Capital Markets, with a proven background in leadership roles.
- Mandatory: Prior leadership experience managing or selling into JP Morgan, Jefferies, or Goldman Sachs, with existing senior-level relationships
- Proven success in building large-scale client portfolios and leading cross-functional teams across delivery, sales, and solutions.
- Strong understanding of investment banking technology, data modernization, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation.
- Deep familiarity with capital markets operating models, including trading, risk, post-trade, and asset servicing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or Technology.
- Experience with M&A advisory, captives setup, or digital innovation programs in the Banking or Capital Markets sector.
- Deep exposure to platform modernisation, AI/ML adoption, and cloud transformations.
