Rippling is seeking an experienced Managed Payroll Specialist (France) to join its Global Payroll Operations team. This critical role involves end-to-end payroll processing, compliance filings, and client support for French clients using Rippling's Global Payroll product. The specialist will manage and optimize French payroll operations, ensuring an excellent experience for international and domestic clients. The position requires a blend of payroll expertise, client-facing skills, and problem-solving abilities to scale and refine Rippling's French payroll offering.
Must have:
  • Manage the complete payroll cycle for French customers, including payroll calculations, audits, DSN submissions, and social contribution filings.
  • Serve as the primary expert for French payroll, assisting international and domestic clients.
  • Act as the point of contact with French government agencies to handle compliance issues and tax-related inquiries.
  • Oversee all payroll aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring DPAE compliance.
  • Ensure payroll processes align with collective agreements and internal policies.
  • Conduct payroll verifications to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports, workforce cost analyses, and compliance documentation.
  • Lead payroll audits, reconciliations, and quality control initiatives.
  • Provide training to internal teams on French payroll regulations and system capabilities.
  • Partner with the French Product Compliance team to refine and improve Rippling’s payroll software.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Managed Payroll Specialist (France) to join Rippling’s Global Payroll Operations team. This role is critical in ensuring seamless payroll execution and compliance for our French clients who use Rippling's Global Payroll product. You will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, compliance filings, client support, and contributing to product improvements.

As Rippling expands globally, this role is essential to managing and optimizing French payroll operations while ensuring an excellent experience for international and domestic clients unfamiliar with French payroll complexities. You will play a key role in supporting our internal teams, training customer support, and driving automation and compliance enhancements.

This position requires a mix of payroll expertise, client-facing experience, and problem-solving skills to help us scale and refine our payroll offering in France.

Fluency in French and English (written and verbal) is required for this position.

What you will do

  • Payroll processing & compliance: Manage the complete payroll cycle for French customers, including payroll calculations, audits, DSN (Déclaration Sociale Nominative) submissions, and social contribution filings.
  • Client support & advisory: Serve as the primary expert for French payroll, assisting international and domestic clients in understanding and complying with French payroll regulations and best practices.
  • Regulatory liaison: Act as the point of contact with French government agencies (URSSAF, DGFIP, and social security bodies) to handle compliance issues and tax-related inquiries.
  • Employee lifecycle & leave management: Oversee all payroll aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring DPAE compliance, calculating final pay settlements, and managing leave types (sick leave, maternity/paternity, and occupational injury claims) in compliance with social security regulations.
  • Collective agreements & legal compliance: Ensure payroll processes align with collective agreements and internal policies while staying updated on labor law changes and regulatory requirements.
  • Post-payroll controls & adjustments: Conduct payroll verifications to identify and correct discrepancies, including overpayments, back pay, and tax adjustments.
  • Audit & reporting: Prepare payroll-related reports, workforce cost analyses, and compliance documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Process optimization & payroll audits: Lead payroll audits, reconciliations, and quality control initiatives to enhance accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Training & knowledge sharing: Provide training to internal teams, including customer support and operations, on French payroll regulations, compliance updates, and system capabilities.
  • Product collaboration: Partner with the French Product Compliance team to refine and improve Rippling’s payroll software, ensuring full compliance with French payroll laws and enhancing automation capabilities.

What you will need

  • French payroll expertise: Deep knowledge of French payroll regulations, including DSN reporting, social contributions, employee benefits, and tax filings.
  • Client-facing experience: At least 5+ years of experience in payroll processing with direct customer interaction, ideally in a SaaS or payroll outsourcing environment.
  • Regulatory knowledge: Experience handling compliance interactions with URSSAF, DGFIP, and social security institutions.
  • Analytical & problem-solving skills: Strong command of Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and ticketing tools (e.g., Salesforce, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Communication & project management: Ability to manage multiple workstreams, communicate complex payroll concepts clearly, and drive projects to completion autonomously.
  • Technical proficiency: Familiarity with payroll software and automation. Experience working with product and engineering teams to optimize payroll tools would be an asset.
