Job Description

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Global Supply Planner for North America. This role involves coordinating purchasing activities, acquiring goods and services cost-effectively, and maintaining technical understanding of purchased commodities. The planner will perform cost analysis, monitor subcontractor quality, schedule, and scope. Key responsibilities include coordinating production workflow across global sites, monitoring production performance, ensuring customer satisfaction within the supply process, partnering with external manufacturers for optimal production schedules, and leading team meetings to communicate feasible schedules. The role also involves planning and prioritizing operations for maximum performance and minimum delay, and escalating supply/demand imbalances as needed.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of Supply Chain experience
  • ERP/MRP experience
  • Strong spreadsheet/database skills
  • High energy and engagement

Department Overview

NA Materials Operations organization is responsible for planning materials and managing inventory for all Land Mobile Radio products with the objective of optimizing customer satisfaction and MSI revenue, cost and cash flow.


Job Description

Coordinates purchasing activities with all functional departments acquiring commodities (goods and services) in a cost effective and timely manner. Achieves and maintains a technical understanding of commodities purchased. Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities. Obtains materials, components, equipment and services. Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate. Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontractors to assure highest quality at best value.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating production workflow for one or multiple products with different sites around the world.
  • Monitoring production performance and the delivery of finished products while work with finance and other internal teams to solve any inconvenience.
  • Guarantee customer satisfaction of internal stakeholders among the supply process.
  • Partner with external manufacturers to determine optimal production schedule.
  • Work closely with the external manufacturers to guarantee the production requirements and create a materials and capacity feasible short term production plan.
  • Lead weekly and monthly local supply team meeting to determine and communicate feasible schedule for the next week / month and ensure that all parties are aligned.
  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
  • Escalates supply/demand imbalances as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills up, down and across the organization (verbal, written and presentation) in Spanish and English
  • Ability to work and make decisions in situations with ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Actively supports diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Self-motivated
  • Experience working with suppliers

This position should work fully on site in the Guadalajara Operation, Jabil's Building 1

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of relevant Supply Chain experience (purchasing, production planning, suppliers development and negotiation)
  • ERP/MRP (Oracle, SAP, etc) experience
  • Strong capabilities with spreadsheets / databases
  • High Energy / Engagement
