As Head of Data, you will shape and lead Kwalee’s data strategy and manage a team of Data Engineers, Scientists, and BI Developers. You will collaborate with product, design, and game teams to use data to drive decision-making and innovation. The role is based in Leamington Spa, with relocation assistance and visa sponsorship provided. Responsibilities include leading data strategy, managing the data team, architecting the data platform, driving coding standards, championing data literacy, delivering value through machine learning, and ensuring data quality.

Must have:

8+ years experience in data/analytics with 3+ in leadership
Experience in gaming analytics (LTV, ARPDAU, churn, UA attribution)
Strong skills with SQL, Python/R, and familiarity with tools
Experience with big data technologies like Databricks/Spark/Hadoop
Proven success in delivering ML or optimization use cases
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management
Bachelor's or Master's in Data Science/Computer Science
Based in Leamington Spa with 5 days per week on site

As we continue to grow, we are now looking for a Head of Data to join our Engineering & Operations team.

As our Head of Data, you’ll be responsible for shaping and leading Kwalee’s data strategy, managing a talented team of Data Engineers, Scientists and BI Developers. You’ll work closely with our product, design and game teams to turn data into a powerful driver of decision-making and innovation across the business.

This is a permanent role based in our Leamington Spa studio, where our daily in-office collaboration fuels creativity and innovation. If you're not already based locally, we’ll support your move with comprehensive relocation assistance and visa sponsorship, ensuring a smooth transition.

Responsibilities:

Define and lead Kwalee’s technical data vision, strategy, and roadmap.
Manage and mentor the Data Team, supporting their growth and development.
Architect and evolve a scalable, modern data platform to support our game and business needs.
Drive high coding standards and best practices across data engineering.
Champion data literacy and self-service tools across the company.
Deliver measurable value through machine learning, AI and analytics projects.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and timelines.
Ensure data quality, governance, security, and regulatory compliance.
Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

8+ years of experience in data or analytics, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in gaming analytics (e.g. LTV, ARPDAU, churn, UA attribution).
Strong hands-on skills with SQL, Python or R, and familiarity with tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
Experience with big data technologies such as Databricks, Spark or Hadoop.
Demonstrated success delivering ML or optimisation use cases.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Computer Science or a related field (MBA is a plus).
Based in our office in Leamington Spa with 5 days per week on site.
