Job Description

As Head of Global Credit Control, you will lead the Finance Services stream within the finance operations department, overseeing and developing the credit control team. This role involves monitoring and reporting on debtor aging, ensuring timely action on overdue debts, and escalating issues internally and externally. You will also be responsible for developing processes to minimize debtor balance risks and initiating continuous process improvements within your team.
Must have:
  • Manage debtor ledgers for all legal entities
  • Manage and develop the credit control team, progressing their skillsets
  • Manage filing of client administration claims
  • Ensure debt risks are mitigated and managed
  • Liaise with managed/platform services departments
  • Escalate debt risks unmanageable within business processes
  • Interface with Awin’s credit insurance agencies
  • Responsible for monthly bad debt assessment
  • Follow an end-to-end process approach with relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure proper documentation of team-owned processes
  • 8+ years of relevant working experience in credit control or similar role in an international business environment
  • People / team management experience
  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience handling complex databases
  • Fluency in English & excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proactive to react quickly and willingness to contact top customers directly, if necessary
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Good to have:
  • Experience with credit management software
  • Microsoft Dynamics D365 and Power BI
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or other finance related area

Job Details

Purpose of Position

As Head of Global Credit Control, you have a central function in the Finance Services stream within the finance operations department. You oversee and develop the credit control team which cooperates with managed and platform services teams, advertisers and with other finance departments within Awin.

You manage a team that monitors and reports on debtor aging.

You ensure overdue debts are acted upon and escalated accordingly internally and externally.

You help to develop processes to minimize the risks within our debtor balances. As a head of global credit control, you also ensure that you and your team initiate process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the debtor ledgers for all legal entities
  • Manage and develop your team and seek to progress their skillsets
  • Manage filing of client administration claims
  • Ensure debt risks are mitigated and managed
  • Liaise with managed/platform services departments
  • Escalate debt risks that cannot be managed within designed business processes
  • Interface to Awin’s credit insurance agencies
  • Responsible for the monthly bad debt assessment
  • Follow an end-to-end process approach and liaise with the relevant stakeholders (AR, Sales, FP&A, Accounting Reporting and Consolidation) for excellent cooperation
  • Ensure proper documentation of processes your team owns

Key Skills

  • 8+ years of relevant working experience in credit control or similar role in an international business environment
  • Experience with credit management software desired
  • People / team management experience
  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Microsoft Dynamics D365 and Power BI is a plus
  • Experience handling complex databases
  • Fluency in English & excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or other finance related area (ideal)
