Job Description

At Apple, the Health Software team focuses on creating groundbreaking user experiences that empower users to live healthier lives while ensuring data privacy. As a Health Writer, you will translate complex clinical information into inclusive, easy-to-read, concise, actionable, and clinically accurate content. You will collaborate with engineers and clinical experts to understand data models and adapt content for various audiences, contributing to Apple's voice and tone guidelines.

Must Have:
  • At least 10 years of experience as a health writer, within a technology environment
  • Familiarity with medical coding standards, such as SNOMED-CT, ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, LOINC, and RxNorm
  • Background structuring content libraries and curating knowledge bases
  • Experience researching and summarizing clinical literature
  • Expertise in complex, system-level content creation

As a writer on the Health Software team, you’ll need to be passionate about creating content that meets a high standard: Inclusive, easy-to-read, concise, actionable, and clinically accurate. You’ll work with engineers to understand the underlying data model and implementation details in order to create content that can be easily adapted for different audiences or purposes. This role contributes to broader discussions about voice and tone across Apple.

  • Write and edit health content, translating complex clinical information into actionable, user-friendly language.
  • Work alongside clinical subject matter experts, engineers, clinical informaticists in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Think deeply about the impact on our end user, advocating for an inclusive, nonjudgmental experience that delivers value for all users.

Key Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience as a health writer, within a technology environment
  • Familiarity with medical coding standards, such as SNOMED-CT, ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, LOINC, and RxNorm
  • Background structuring content libraries and curating knowledge bases.
  • Experience researching and summarizing clinical literature

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,200 and $220,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
