Job Description

The Ottawa Technology Center is a world-class team responsible for hardware and software development of embedded processing and networking products. The hardware team is seeking a highly motivated design verification engineer to make an impact. In this role, you will contribute to the verification of a leading-edge hardware design/system, developing solutions for SoC verification, executing functional and system tests, and collaborating with IC Design, Software, and System engineers on test plans and testbench implementation.
Good To Have:
  • Student work experience in hardware design or verification environment
  • Knowledge of digital design verification including test environment implementation and test plan development
  • Knowledge of C, System Verilog and/or other verification languages and simulators
  • Knowledge of constrained random verification
  • L2 and L3 networking protocols implementation (e.g. Eth/IP/UDP)
  • Good knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Good knowledge of Unix/Linux, Perl
Must Have:
  • Working towards a Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software or Computer Engineering program
  • Strong interest in hardware design and/or verification
  • Focus on quality of results, with proven problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate in English and work effectively within a team

In this role, you will contribute to the verification of a leading edge hardware design/system.

You will:

  • Develop solutions for the verification of the hardware System On Chip (SoC) products
  • Develop, execute and debug a wide range of functional and system tests and checks to validate hardware design
  • Work with IC Design, Software and System engineers to develop test plans based on Design specification
  • Contribute to the testbench specification and implementation

In order to apply for this position, the candidate must have the following:

  • Working towards a Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software or Computer Engineering program
  • Strong interest in hardware design and/or verification
  • Focus on quality of results, with proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate in English and work effectively within a team
