NXP's Smart Front-End & Interfaces product line is developing millimeter wave technology products for Automotive Radar and 5G solutions, bridging high-speed wired interfaces with mmWave wireless technologies for consumer, computing, and industrial markets. We are seeking world-class mmWave Antenna engineers to join our experienced design team to implement state-of-the-art mmWave broadband communications ICs. Must Have:
  • Design, develop, optimize, and implement mmWave antennas and antenna-in-package modules.
  • Collaborate with silicon and package designers on SI, PI, and EM requirements.
  • Perform hands-on, in-lab verification of mmWave measurement test beds.
  • Responsible for technical project documentation.
  • Execute assigned tasks within defined timelines.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams for product requirements.
  • MSEE or PhD with 15+ years in mmWave Antenna design, modeling, simulation, and measurement.
  • Experience designing and validating 5G and mmWave antennas and AiP modules.
  • Deep knowledge of RF and EM simulation tools (Ansys HFSS, Cadence, Keysight).
  • Strong technical knowledge in 2D/3D EM modeling, transmission line theory, EM propagation.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for antenna modeling, simulation, and data analysis.
  • Experience with VNA, TDR, real-time scope, spectrum analyzer for high-speed characterization.
  • Deep knowledge of laminate multi-layer manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Strong knowledge of design flows, tools, and methodologies.

Job Summary

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, optimize, and implement antennas and antenna-in-package modules for millimeter wave wireless technologies.
  • Close collaboration with silicon and package designers to satisfy SI, PI and EM requirements.
  • Hands-on, in the lab verification of millimeter wave measurement test beds and composite channels
  • Responsible for technical project documentation
  • Execute assigned tasks within defined timelines
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to define requirements and features of future products.

Job Qualifications:

  • MSEE or PhD degree (preferred) with 15+ years of experience in mmWave Antenna design, modeling, simulation and measurement experience
  • Prior experience of designing and validating 5G and mmWave antennas and AiP module designs in mobile and computing applications
  • Deep knowledge of RF and EM simulation tools (e.g. Ansys HFSS, Cadence, Keysight)
  • Strong technical knowledge in 2D and 3D electromagnetic modeling, transmission line theory, EM propagation, Near field and Far field effects
  • Strong proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for antenna modeling, simulation, and data analysis
  • Experience using lab equipment for high-speed characterization – VNA, TDR, real-time scope, spectrum analyzer, etc
  • Deep knowledge with laminate multi-layer manufacturing processes and materials
  • Strong knowledge of design flows, tools and methodologies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with a pro-active, can-do attitude
