Job Summary
BlackRock is seeking an Associate for its Portfolio Compliance Monitoring team in Singapore. This role, within the Global Accounting and Product Services (GAAPS) group, focuses on ensuring alignment with regulatory and portfolio guidelines across trading and investments. The Associate will be responsible for investment guideline monitoring, exception investigation and resolution, and collaborating with portfolio management and internal partners to maintain compliance. The position involves executing manual tests, identifying coding issues, and troubleshooting errors, while contributing to efficiency initiatives.
Must Have
- Investment guideline monitoring of both BlackRock investment funds and client mandates
- Pre-trade and post-trade investment guideline exception investigation and resolution
- Collaborating with portfolio managers and internal partners to ensure compliance
- Executing manual tests and identifying investment guideline coding issues
- Gaining familiarity with BlackRock’s Aladdin applications, trade flow processes, data environments, and investment products
- Troubleshooting potential errors
- Contributing to efficiency and process improvement initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field

- Background in finance or similar fields
- Solid understanding of economic concepts, financial instruments, markets, and regulations
- Comfortable working across multiple functions, geographies, and stakeholders with maturity and sound judgment
- High energy, drive, and sense of urgency
- Understanding of relational database concepts (including SQL)
- Business proficiency in Japanese

BlackRock is currently seeking professionals at the Associate level (3–4 years’ experience and above) to join our Portfolio Compliance Monitoring team in Singapore.
The Portfolio Compliance Group (PCG) is a global function within Global Accounting and Product Services (GAAPS), part of the Business Operations & Technology Group. PCG ensures alignment with regulatory and portfolio-issued guidelines across trading and investments. This includes Aladdin pre- and post-trade compliance, non-Aladdin trading compliance, global syndicate offering review, ERISA & Fiduciary monitoring, and Global Thresholds reporting.
The Monitoring Team within PCG is responsible for investment guideline monitoring, exception investigation and resolution, and close collaboration with portfolio management and other stakeholders to ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Investment guideline monitoring of both BlackRock investment funds and client mandates
- Pre-trade and post-trade investment guideline exception investigation and resolution
- Collaborating with portfolio managers and internal partners to ensure compliance
- Executing manual tests and identifying investment guideline coding issues
- Gaining familiarity with BlackRock’s Aladdin applications, trade flow processes, data environments, and investment products
- Troubleshooting potential errors
- Contributing to efficiency and process improvement initiatives
Skills / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field; background in finance or similar fields preferred but not required
- Solid understanding of economic concepts, financial instruments, markets, and regulations is a plus
- Comfortable working across multiple functions, geographies, and stakeholders with maturity and sound judgment
- High energy, drive, and sense of urgency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; understanding of relational database concepts (including SQL) is beneficial
- Nice to have business proficiency in Japanese
